Groves: Froch is scared of damage in rematch

No it was a smart move. He didn't like the terms and now is mandatory challenger anyway.

Anyway, back to the topic. What Groves said is true, Froch is worried about losing and getting hurt vs Groves. There's also a decent chance that Froch could beat Groves and cause him damage but the difference is Groves seems more up for the fight.

 

Groves is more dangeruos than Ward now. :roll:

Groves has a lot more to lose than Froch has. Froch is one tough SOB and he can take a hell of a lot of punishment, dust himself off and carry on, can Groves afford to go into another war? Groves will have to fight more smartly second time round and he can ill afford to make any mistakes. So that means lasting a full 12 rounds and not get sucked into another Froch war. Yes Froch took a shed load of damage, but we know that Froch can take damage, Groves I'm not so sure about.

There is no denying that Groves is the better boxer and he gave him a boxing lesson in the first fight. But you cannot discount Froch, he has a will and a way to win when everything is stacked up against him. Groves better watch out, if he starts gassing again in the latter rounds, Froch will capitalise big time.

 

Froch probably took more damage against Groves than he did against Ward.

 

grove really is trying to fu ck the organisation that is giving him another crack at thier title , he wants a nc if so think of the money the ibf would have to hand back for that fight , some one should tell the appealer not to bite the hand that feeds him

 

Ward has pillows fists. Groves has bombs in those hands of his. Ward would take Froch back to primary school again, while Groves would give Froch a bigger beating than the one he took from the bullies at school who picked on him because of his massive hooter.

 

I have immense respect for Groves and had picked him to beat Froch before they met the first time. I didn't think he'd fight him the way he did, though, and give him credit for putting in one of the most audacious performances seen in a British ring in years. Also, the way he was able to get under Froch's skin during the build up was sublime, and it was great to see the crowd getting behind him at the end of the fight after booing him in.

But if there is a return match, I think Froch will win. Rather than the first fight, when Groves had everything to prove, now the shoe is on the other foot. Froch knows this fight will determine his legacy and will prepare accordingly. Consider the way he came back from his humiliating defeat to Ward to steamroller Lucien Bute, who was undefeated at the time. I also think the premature stoppage has obscured the fact that Groves threw everything inc the kitchen sink at Froch for six rounds and was unable to put him away. Froch had definitely recovered and was dominating from the seventh round on. People seem to be forgetting that.

 

groves could tweet "my **** don't stink" and some of you cretins would post "he speaks the truth!".

I think froch can give groves just as much damage as groves gives him.

Did he really, based on what exactly ?
Groves may have dropped him in the first, and landed some big shots during the fight, but Ward was landing at will for the entire fight, and he was throwing constantly, not just in fits and starts as Groves did.
Ward is also on another level to groves, and even he was blowing at the end, and being caught with shots.
Georgie boy had his chance and made a mess of it, what will he do differently next time ?

 

Mainly based on my opinion that Groves hits a lot harder, put Froch down and looked to be beating the crap out of him for like 8 rounds.

Didn't make a mess of it. He did a lot better than most people expected. We'll see what he does differently next time but my guess would be stick to a game plan, be less nervous, pace himself better, not get excited and go looking for the KO and not get drawn into a brawl. Oh yeah, and hopefully have a better referee and judges.
