That was 7 years ago. Floyd is definitely a bigger star now, then he was then. I think that was only his 3rd fight as the A side of a PPV fight. The others being the Baldomir, and Judah fights.

 

In the uk probably, in the US doubt it, nobody rates Khan they know he is average, It will be hard to hype a fight involving a guy coming off no big wins for some time, a guy who in his last big fight got KTFO. Certainly not a chance most people who know boxing will buy this **** and while Casuals can get caught up in hype the fact that khan is know can actually be a bad thing, ie Even the casuals know how limited Khan is, my guess is similar numbers to Guerrero and Showtime were unhappy with that doubt it breaks 1m.

Khan is a global brand so I don't doubt that the fight will do well on PPV. The issue is whether he deserves the fight in the first place. Allowing someone to sleepwalk into this kind of an opportunity after getting KO'd and looking average againsy nobodies is a TERRIBLE precedent to set.

 

When they release footage of Khan sparring Angulo and training for this fight everyone will WATCH it... believe me.

It'll probably do better than any of the other guys that Floyd hasn't already beat and is willing to face.
