Very good point but Bika stands and moves like Hopkins so I cam up with that comparison. Your right though that right hand zeroed in a few times.

I think it all depends on what tactics Hopkins is allowed to get away with and the fact that I do not think JC can keep out of a good old fashioned ruck. B-Hop will stop JC late on. I really hope I am wrong.

I have an avatar bet on Joe

I have an actual bet on Joe

I'll be screaming myself hoarse supporting Joe

I still think Hopkins is gonna steal it though !

Hopkins has bored the **** out of me for the last few years but tbh Calzgahe has never fought anyone like the crafty ******* Bernard Hopkins before.

If Hopkins does win it will be close though imo.

Calzaghe UD. Too quick, too relentless, too awkward and too tough. Bernard Hopkins will not be able to bully Calzaghe like he has smaller oposition and he will not be able to out box Joe with only a few selct punches, he simply doesnt have the workrate nor the lungs to compete on Calzaghes level over 12 rounds, he will be beaten to the puncha dn out worked.

Expect joe to start fast winning the first couple of rounds, the Hopkins cleverness gets him into the bout say in the middle rounds before Calzaghes lead increases dramatically when the fight enters the later stages.

This will be a very interesting fight, ive tried predicting the possible scenarios in my head and they are too numerous!! Anything could play out in this fight!!! People are saying how much trouble hopkins style will cause joe, i equally think this the other way round and joe is gonna give b-hop fits with his jab and footwork. Ive got 25 quid on a zag ud and same amount on a stoppage so im backing joe ultimately, no chance do i see hopkins putting joe away, hes never been close to being stopped and i dont think hopkins has the power to do it, the bika comparison doesnt stand up for me...he caused joe probs yeah, but he was dealt with and the fight EASILY won!!

However i hope joe lives up to his statement of trying to throw some heavy shots in this fight, simply CANT WAIT FOR THIS ONE!!

Why do people think the Sakio Bika fight was close? Someone posted it was life and death ffs, was not close at all, just Calzaghe looked uninspired and the win was ugly but was still an easy win.

Thats a good point about Hopkins tactics. I suspect he will test the other Joe in this fight (Cortez that is) to see how far he can stretch the rules.

The selection of Cortez as ref, style of fight he allows and what tactics he will tolerate may have some impact on the outcome.

Interesting that Hopkins has previously objected to Cortez refereeing some of his fights and succeeded in having him removed once I believe.

Like your posts Jeff as you do actually back up your statements with decent arguments but I just think that after 5 rds of keeping in touch the 43 yrs will kick in & Joe's workrate will see him to a clear points win or possibly a late stoppage.......Looking forward to it whatever.....Taffy

Yep. But I think he will want to turn it into a fouling war. Mainly to make JC forget his gameplan which is when JC is at his most vulnerable. I do not think B-Hop will want to clean box JC until he has the fight won.

I think Hopkins will try to rough Calzaghe up early and do whatever he can to slow the fight down.

Calzaghe needs to force Hopkins to fight at a pace he is not comfortable with and can't maintain.

Yes while not getting nailed by lead rights and not falling into clinches... impossible.
