his turned pro with top rank how does everyone think he will do.? Considering his already had 9 WSB bouts I think he will be facing a decent level of competition straight away
Awesome Oleksandr was training with Kovalev up in Big Bear recently. Kovalev, Beterbiev, Mekhontsev, Gvozdyk is quite the LHW line up Denis Berinchyk was offered a Top Rank contract but is going to wait until after this WSB season to make a decision.
Arum signing up the best international talent, GBP still thinking that Latinos and Americans are the way forward...silly Oscar...silly Dicky Schaefer
I think Golden Boy will get in on the Eastern Europeans, there are so many talented Eastern European Amateurs now, they are beating the cubans. I think we will see more.
True eastern Europe is realy going to take over the light heavyweight division, hopefully Joe ward goes pro too. I don't know why Berinchyk is waiting until after the WSB season he hasn't even had one fight in it so far this year
It's not just the EE's that Arum is getting in on though but also the Asian's. For the first time it seems we're going to actually have GLOBAL boxing promoters.
Belief in the idea that fans wouldn't care I guess...yet they had Arakawa in one of the most memorable matches of 2013...
That's only because all the best American LHW's are playing point guard. Might as well get that out of the way. Here's another one. "Dayummm Daze ain't takin' ovah sheeit".
Yes a year from now light heavyweight will be dimissed as a weak division devoid of any talent alongside those other dead divisions crusierweight and heavyweight.
I don't think so the four guys at LHW mentioned are all skilled, aggressive, hard punching fan friendly fighters. People already love Kovalev.
Kovalev is not loved by any stretch. They are calling him a racist with a glass jaw. If you took the exzct same fighter, painted him Black and gave him a U.S. passport he would be 10X more popular and making at least that much more in his fight purses. Face it those fighters are seen a boxing's third class citizens and treated that way particularly in terms of economic compensation. Although things are changing but change does not happen overnight. The true lynchpin for their equality will rest on how well Vasly Lomachenko performs. his success could greatly quicken the above process.
