Think it was seen as a massive mis-match first time around hence the lack of interest? HBO may be interested as Groves is a definite opponent for Ward in the future?

I would love it to be old Trafford, however one direction play at the Etihad stadium on 31st May, I just cant see the police allowing 2 major events 6-7 mile apart.
also you have to consider hotels etc, I hope im wrong but I think one direction being in the city on that evening is going to throw a spanner in the works. maybe they could bring the fight forward or delay 1 week ........

Was at the Emirates yesterday, absolutely fantastic stadium, good leg room and nice padded seats, would be a good choice

In all honesty its a One Direction gig, just send in the Community Support, no point wasting real Police on that shower.

That crowd will all be in bed by 9pm anyway the undercard will still be in full flow at this point.

Given recent examples of how rain can ruin the experience of a stadium fight the Millennium Stadium's sliding roof and ability to cope with a capacity exceeding even Eddie's dreams make it the best option in itself. Also, you can step out of any pub in Cardiff City centre and virtually straight into the stadium - you don't get more central than that.

It'll go to an English footy stadium by the looks though so given our unpredictable climate right now it'll be fingers crossed for the weather.

I live in London and am a big boxing fan but would not go to this fight if it's at the Emirates or any other stadium

You lose so much atmosphere in a stadium environment and unless you pay crazy prices you end up watching on the screen anyway.

I'd be amazed if Hearn can sell 60k tickets for this...

Would depend on the pricing really, if the ones in the upper tiers of the emirates are something like £20 I reckon they can sell

Although the first fight adds alot of intrest we have only have to think back.
Eddie Hearn alongside Sky are very good at hyping a fight, but the last one didnt sell out in 11 minutes, thats tosh, i got mine still online at 12.35 that day and know of several others that did too but it sure does sound goo doesn't it!

Then if anyone cares to remember Eddie released a 'very limited batch of fighter returns' at all prices on the Arena website but these were on there for several weeks leading up to the fight, there was no clammer for them at all.

Add this to the fact that there were approx 4-5k on Stub hubb that the Touts snapped up we are looking at demand for the first fight being between 10-15k max.

Now, as i stated in the thread to start the original fight will add intrest , many will want to see the rematch, but there is a big difference between those showing inerest by signing up about ticket release and those that will actually attend , also pricing will play a big part , i dont see many people wanting to travel to London/Manchester the cost of hotels etc to pay 40-60 pound for the priviledge of watching two matchsticks or a screen.

Eddie is hyping this and milking it for all he possibly can, Froh's best mate loves to tell us how he works for the fighters not the other way round but all we hear from Hearn is how HE wants to do this ! How he believes in that , all I!

Froch is at the pinnacle of his career , he has travelled the globe to fight and is very close to retirement , his wish has always been to fight in his home city of Nottingham at his Football Ground Nottingham Forest.

For those saying you wont get more than 30,000, the City ground has just over that in seats thats if you do not put any on the floor, so we would be looking at what circa 35-37 thousand in there for Carl Last fight in the UK.

Carl has aired his displeasure at the Manchester crowd that night and dont for a second think there was 20,000 boxing fans in the Arena , the vast majority were casuals as per usual and this told in atmosphere created inside the venue during and after the bought including the fighting in the stands and on the floor.

Eddie needs to do whats best for both fighters not whats best for himself and his pockets.

For such a 'close friend' of Carl's he is showing little to no respect publically for what Carl actually wants and George....well.... he is so confident in his ability to actually beat Froch i do believe he would fight him Anywhere !

Johnny Nelson asked George Groves on ringside would he fight Froch in Nottingham and George replied he would fight Froch in his back garden.

To be fair to Eddie Hearn though, he wants to make it a massive event (which it is) and attract as many people as he can to the fight, so he wants to hold it in a bigger stadium like Old Trafford or the Emirates.

I don't think this fight needs selling because the first fight sold the rematch on it's own, but all the bad blood and George having to go down the legal route to get his rematch has only added more spice to the dish.
Hearn did say he was going to take the fighters on a press tour so take that and the build up on Sky into account, I don't think they will have any problems shifting tickets as Froch-Groves II has really attracted the public's imagination and come May 31st there wont be a empty seat in the house.
