Because Khan doesn't deserve this fight compared to Maidana and not close. Khan has been clearly inactive for nearly a year now to keep his self protected from anyone random sparking him off the payday for good. If he wants a shot he should consider winning a title at the very least or scoring a significant victory at 147. Fighting someone because he barked on twitter(Khan's entire career basically) is a shameful move.

 

Truth is Khan beat Maidana and Maidana badly lost to Alexander. Its better to be in a competitive fight and lose by knockout then to get outboxed every minute of every round for 12 rounds.

But what we have to take into the account is the recent performances and this favours Maidana. His victory over Broner was spectacular and is on a winning streak. On the other hand Khan has produced **** performances in his last outings.

Has anyone ever came off a fight with a no-hoper like Julio Diaz (looking like a chump in the fight to boot) and deserved a shot at the best in the world?

He asked them to choose between Khan and Maidana.

Maidana is a legitimate title-holder. His name is naturally in the frame, that doesn't mean I feel he's the most deserving of all to get the fight either; of the two? No question .

What I'm asking is why Khan is even in the frame? What has he done to deserve the fight?

Ortiz didn't really deserve the fight either, but at least he was just off a win at the weight in a world title match with Andre Berto.

I'd also be quite confident that Victor Ortiz, limited as he is, would KO Khan. If that's not the case, why doesn't Khan just clean up a few of the others in the division, become a legitimate title-holder and then there will be no question he deserves the fight?

Neither of them can trouble Floyd. Khan has speed that Maidana doesn't, sure, but Maidana will last the entire fight. Has Mayweather ever fought someone with such a weak chin? I can't think of any.

If it's about styles and not about who deserves the fight, why not just throw Floyd in with Keith Thurman?
