Obviously this is a hypothetical match up since the two fighters are with rivaling promotional teams. However, I'm wondering if both Khan and Pacquiao were able to come off big wins in the spring. Would that fight have the potential to be a mega-fight?? Now of course in the United States, it probably wouldn't be much bigger than Bradley-Pacquiao. But let's say hypothetically speaking, they took this promotional tour throughout Europe and Asia (UK, Dubai, Macau, Philippines, India, etc). This would kind of be uncharted territory. But could such an event somehow supersede the revenues that a potential Mayweather September fight? I think many underestimate the potential for new revenue in boxing in markets like these. Supposedly, the Macau fight was a bit of a bust. But I think Rios didn't bring a lot to the table internationally. Dubai, to me, could be very interesting. They pay close to 7 figure appearance fees for select tennis players (Federer, Nadal, etc) just to show up to their tennis tournaments. I know many on here will quickly dismiss the idea but I'd be curious to hear constructive criticism or positive input.
Somehow, as pathetic as it sounds, Pacquiao fighting Khan would be a better opponent then the last one Pacquiao fought, and decisively so. Edit: No, it will not be a mega fight. Mayweather/Khan wasn't going to be a mega fight so I don't see how this would be unless you rate Pacquiao significantly low to the point that you are arguing the sake of a competitive match will make it a "mega fight."
easy ko for manny. people say manny ducked khan but what i think it is its that manny knows he would kill khan and seeing as theyre friends manny really doesnt want to fight him and destroy his life.
The only thing that makes this fight interesting is the back story. Khan talked some crap about knocking Manny down, which is doubtful. If it's true, then it's pathetic of him to use that hype himself up by playing Manny down. Would be nice for Manny and Freddy to get that KO over Amir, but it just adds up to a freakshow fight, not really competitive.
Khan should tell GBP to **** off & look to get out of his cotract with them after the way they along with Floyd have treated him. Maybe Khan vs Marquez in Dubai, winner gets winner of Pac vs Bradley.
Pssh, for Marquez a W over Khan doesn't do much more than a W over Alvarado. Shame on Mayweather for not looking out for the best interests of another fighter.
hearing khan's most recent comments on fight hype, I was pretty surprised how angry he was. I would be curious to know how long his contract is with GBP. Arum has been in the news recently echoing similar sentiments. It makes me order if perhaps Khan's people have been talking with Top Rank.
Edited. Thought I read "Mayweather vs Khan" as the thread title. atsch Pacquiao vs Khan would be a megafight, yes. This fight pretty much guarantees action and entertainment.
That could be a mega-fight if they fought in England. No doubt in my mind that Pacman would beat him in devastating fashion. Possible KO of the year potential.
