Well if we are only going back 18 months then Bradley's resume if he beats Pacquiao will wipe the floor with Mayweather's at Welterweight.

Being that we don't have to take into account that he didn't deserve the W against Pacquiao and he's beaten Pac, Marquez and Provodnikov, which would be miles better than Guerrero and Maidana. So no way will you be able to claim Mayweather is number 1 with this line of thinking. In fact if Marquez beats Alvarado you have to claim KOing Pacquiao, and beating Alvarado is more impressive than Guerrero and Maidana, despite the fact that Mayweather won every round against him, but, hey, so did Alexander against Maidana.

You do realise neither TRB (6th) or The Ring (9th) list Maidana as a top 5 welterweight- and rightfully so, so don't act like it's a fact or the general opinion that he is.

Sergio is damaged goods and falling apart more and more with every fight, as much as I am a fan of his I got to let you know he is definitely on his way out the game. His leg is ****ed, his hand is ****ed, he is getting older and he knows he has done it all it his weight class. On the flip side Cotto looks crisp and quick, I guarantee you this fight will not be one-sided. Martinez winning is not a sure thing and anyone who thinks it is doesn't know **** about the dynamics of this fight. Martinez is easy to drop and he isn't fully recovered from his injuries, I don't think this fight will be a breeze...I do think Cotto can win and I wont be surprised if he does. If you watch all of Sergio's fights then I know you saw what I saw versus Murray...not a good look.

:thumbsup This is exactly how I see it, but I don't see Cotto as very low risk at all, I think he is bigger threat now than he has been in a long time. I see him as a guy still hungry for that big win. He looked great in his tune up. Also..last but not least...the biggest factor of all, is his trainer - Freddie Roach. Who was his trainer before this? What trainer has he had that was in Freddie Roach's class? Who is even close? This is the best trainer he ever had since he has been boxing and he has been working with him for a decent amount of time now...long enough to come in there and exercise all of his talents and abilities. He will definitely show up with new weapons and will look impressive in this fight regardless of the outcome.

Martinez has been off for well over a year, had two knee surgeries, one shoulder surgery...it's a legit tuneup that will make him money.

He's already calling out golovkin next. Great respect to sergio if he fights him.

He doesn't deserve criticism. He's old already and know he's near the end and looking to fatten his retirement purse as much as possible. We have to remember that 90% of Sergio's career was fought in obscurity in Argentina and so his talent failed to net him the type of profits other great fighters during that time saw.

 

He is fighting the man who will bring him the biggest paycheck, that's the point In the sport of prizefighting.

Martinez knocked Paul Williams out cold in the second round!!! This is a tuneup fight for Martinez against Cotto! Great fight, esp. for a come back. Martinez will stop Cotto. Golovkin will stop Martinez and then Martinez will retire. Ishida is a heavyweight now................Golovkin knocked him out cold and through the ropes in the 3rd round. Paul Williams, nobody could even knock Ishida down, much less knock him out!!!

BoxingX where are you at? Remember when I told you what was gonna happen? Martinez has been damaged goods for a while...surprised he kept the show going for this long! He had a great run but it came to an end. As for Cotto, he fought like he has supposed to, he just always refused to get a championship level trainer up until this point. He did it and he fought like he was supposed to. Honestly he may only have one loss or possibly none if he would have had a better trainer all this time...seriously.
