At age 37, How will Floyd negate Maidana's constant pressure and aggression?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Anthony Birts, Feb 26, 2014.

  1. Floyd is 37 and his legs don't move how they use to. He's not going to be able to get out the way of all Maidana's punches. Maidana is bound to catch Floyd with something big especially during the first 3 rounds. So how will Floyd stop his rush of aggression? Do you think he has enough pop to get Maidana's attention? At the end of the day Floyd will win by UD or late TKO(Maidana being tired and battered goes for broke and Floyd tees off.) OR KO If he catches Maidana rushing in like Hatton.

By punching him and moving to the side and placing himself at the right positions.

Maidana is not exactly Chavez or Duran with footwork.

This. Alexander was able to easily outbox Maidana only a couple of years back, and he doesn't have nearly the ring acumen Floyd possesses.

who are we honestly kidding? maidana got beat by amir. floyd is just building that fight by making trying to beat maidana worse than amir. i'll watch this fight but maidana does not belong in the same ring as floyd.

He will win with relative ease.

He has many many tools at his disposal.

Please tell me one advantage Maidana has over Floyd other than power?

Beating Maidana to the punch and educated footwork.

Pressure without the speed to match doesn't bother Floyd....

His legs actually look fine, probably seen him improve in the last few fights. Because he is 37 you are just making things up. Try getting off boxrec and actually watching him move recently

stick and move, he's still quick/clever enough to get away....and push off with his elbow once in a while.

as unca roger would eloquently say, "box the muffuka."
