As a rugby man who's been there many times I'd have to say Twickenham is unsuitable for a boxing match as the stands take you too far away from the pitch. Wembley has similar issues. I've watched the same gigs in Cardiff and at Wembley and the distance from the stage you feel at Wembley is massive by comparison depsite them both being huge venues. The only suitable stadium for boxing of the size they are talking about is the Millennium Stadium as the for the size (70k+) it still feels like an intimate venue with the stands overhanging the pitch. Eddie really wants this in London I think though.
Hopefully Emirates, that would be my first choice. 60'000 seats then whatever they get on the pitch. Would be massive.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC1ALyCLeSE at the end of the interview eddie says he will announce it live on Sky Sports on tuesday lads
Tuesday eh Ill keep a eye out these were my picks was lol this week Froch going on about Forest Ground. Silly Billy Wembley I will be shocked Millenium stadium would be my choice out the 2
I'm surprised it hasn't leaked where it is. Hearn was saying in an interview last night " why would froch want to fight In London in Groves hometown " so that actually makes me think it is in London because if froch really said that eddie wouldn't admit it on camera because froch is a warrior and would fight anywhere. Im going to say the Emirates.
Apparently its heading to Wembley according to the guardian, I was in the bottom tier to watch leeds a few years back and it was quite far away from the pitch so I think the second tier is probably the best option...
Not sure what to think of Wembley, I can't imagine them being able to sell it out and the views aren't that good.
So Wembley do you guys think it sells out? 90000 is massive i mean that's 90000 people i know its a super fight in the UK but still big ask imo
