The kid has rubbed me the wrong way in the past for all those things you listed, but clearly he has a few things going for him leading to his record, namely:

    a. CHIN
    b. Power

There is a reason guys aren't just walking through his shots all night. They also know if they do catch him, he'll take it no problem. I considered Martinez to be a big puncher when he fought Jr. He was knocking dudes down and out left and right and Chavez managed to take it and still come back in the closing minute.

If he's going to be hurt anywhere, I think it will be from the body.

Somebody not so naïve would probably say; PEDs PEDs PEDs and more PEDs and then being able to deceive the tests or bypass the tests intended to detect PEDs. Also, being larger than your opponents by a couple of weight divisions helps, especially when the opponents aren't huge hitters. I want to see how well Jr.'s chin holds up to Golovkin punching him cleanly for a couple of rounds.

I would prefer if middleweights would stick to fighting middleweights.

Chavez has plenty of strong opponents at super middle/light heavys, so he should better take on someone his size.

Outbox maybe, but Hopkins never really batters anyone does he? Let alone a tough guy like Chavez Jr.

I think people underate Chavez Jr. After seeing him vs Vera I could see the difference between an athletic tough guy and a world class boxer. Chavez does subtle little things that make him world class proboxinganalysis.blogspot.com.au/2014/02/julio-cesar-chavez-jr-v-brian-vera ).

I also hated him when he fought Sergio. But let's be fair, Sergio makes everyone look bad.

If chavez has nailed the myth that you have to be poor to be tough - then he will have done the sport some service.
