Edmund, you know I'm a huge Botha fan. But at this point I have to agree with MyName. It is time for Botha to call it a day and be proud of all that he accomplished in the sport of boxing. He has nothing to be ashamed of, he accomplished a hell of a lot more than most. Let this be his last fight before he rides off into the sunset to enjoy retirement. He might even look into training fighters.

Agreed. But you should support boxers through bad times as well as the good. Otherwise it aint very good support. He is deffo in the twilight of his career, but if he chooses to carry on i will support him. He has lost a few in a row (although the last was cut short when he was about to win) but to be fair he hasnt really been ktfo. He talks about retiring next year. Which would be about right i think. Just wish he would fight in the uk one more time before he retires! Otherwise i reckon he has got three more fights providing he doesnt get ktfo.

According to the Sport live website. The Buffalo fights on!!!

The 'White Buffalo' Francois Botha will charge again

AGEING former world heavyweight champion Francois Botha has made an about-turn on his decision to retire.

"I just had two big offers. What do I say - money talks and bulls**t walks," said the former IBF and WBF champion, who turns 45 on September 28.

"Those offers were too good to be turned down. One fight will be in Las Vegas, while the other will be in Africa."

Botha announced his retirement after being knocked out in the second round by five-fight novice Joseph Parker in New Zealand on June 13.

That was Botha's fifth consecutive loss since he stopped Flo Simba in six rounds at Emperors Palace on June 4 2011.

"Later on, probably in February, me and Evander Holyfield will be involved in exhibition bouts in Tanzania in a fight against malaria. The aim is to give back to the communities," added Botha.

"I will actually be in Tanzania for a boxing tournament next month, where I will do live commentary on their national television, So, ja, the White Buffalo will still do what he has been doing for the past 23 years."

Born in Mpumalanga, Botha spent much of his career in America, where he was promoted by the legendary Don King.

He fought heavyweight legends such as Michael Moorer, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko.

Betting gives Botha a 6-1 outside shot at taking down the pole!? I somehow thought i would get longer odds than that. I guess Andrzej Wawrczyk is still something of an unknown against someone like Botha. He needs to use all his experiance to get the right result in this fight. Oh and lose some of the weight he clearly had extra in the Parker fight. Come on Buffalo! I want to see a Timo Hoffman style performance.

You've been with this right from the start. I think your probarbly right. But sometimes maybe just maybe he could catch the big pole suspect chin?!

What kind of match up would you have? Botha's best fights oever recents years have been with other older fighters. I think he should try go out with a rematch against evander (was pretty close first fight till the ko). Hope he fights in england again before he retires though.
