i was at wembley last year when ryan toms beat up thain easy and got robbed after thain couldn't even look at him lol bad taste :nono
This is one of the weirdest threads ever. :scaredas: I honestly dont know what you guys saw Thain doing between rounds 2-7. He was depented on his jab and Hefron got trough of it time after time. That is all he had and Hefron got better of it time after time. Thain got punished on the ropes and Hefron cut the ring easily. Thain couldnt keep hefron outside. Last three rounds were great by Thain and he definetly looked like a better fighter but he found his rhytm way too late.
The Scots, just like the Micks on this board, are disgustingly deluded. It's best to just completely ignore them.
For such a large nation England in a professional sense would be considered underachivers in boxing and most sports. Look at your cricket team oh number one ranking in the world,PUMPED by the Assies all winter joyous to watch all the internal squabling was brilliant. The Scots are deluded every four year your dumb ass ex England players are telling us this is your year for the world cup and you daft ****s beleive them, **** you lot cant even take a penalty:rofl:rofl:rofl The look on Waddles and Pearces faces was priceless The diffrence is the Scots know the capabilities you lot think your so much better than others! Guess what your not FLOWER OF SCOTLAND
In order to win it you first need to take part. It's why we'll be at this years football world cup whilst you lot will be sat at home desperately hoping we lose. You are more concerned with us failing than you lot succeeding. I'm embarrassed for you.
So its got stupid this thread! Anyone who isnt racist towards the sweaty socks and knows boxing! Knows Thain won. Dont give a **** about previous fights, nation, trainer blah blah. If you havent seen it, watch it. Then come back and comment, until then, stop disrespecting Thain. He has great skills, and proves it in the ring, not on here.
John Thain is a beautiful boxer and as others have said he is a class act in and out of the ring. The only thing he lacks is power. I know he and his camp work hard on improving this aspect of his game and it's an ongoing project. I wonder if he could go up a weight. I'm not sure how much weight he has to lose to make light middle, but he looked a little too lean and ripped in the ring for my liking. He's light boned, which means that any power he develops will involve a certain amount of muscle being added to his frame via the kind of plyometric movements and nutrition required to develop those fast twitch muscle fibres needed to generate explosive power and speed. His technique, movement, engine, and jab is fantastic. He lacks a backhand. He outboxed Heffron throughout the fight, putting in the cleaner and more eye catching work. For a tall man he's excellent on the inside, where on Sat he continually found purchase with the right uppercut. Terry deserves credit for that, as it was obviously something they'd worked on prior to the fight. I had him winning this fight even without the point deduction.
The answer isn't moving up in weight John has great boxing ability but unfortunately doesn't punch particularly hard, concentration is the key for Johns style of boxing not moving up 6 lbs
1st time ive saw him without his snib burst usually a blood bath lol the gym canvas has a fair bit a claret on it haha , thought he won by 2 rounds plus the 1 point deduction so 3rnds imo but tbh back foot boxing away from home is always hard to get the nod
Yes, but concentration is key for any fighter, regardless of style. I just think he looks too lean at the weight. He's lean even at his normal training weight, so the weight that comes off prior to a fight is going to be muscle and water, which he needs to retain nutrients in the body. The idea that a fighter should come in at the lowest weight he can is antiquated and dangerous. Much better to train up and feel stronger, both physically and psychologically. I could obviously be wrong, of course, maybe he did feel strong. He certainly put in a shift and didn't gas out at any point. Regardless, he should have won the fight on Saturday and should have retained his unbeaten record.
Your obviously into some kind and strength and conditioning that's why your trying to sound intelligent thain does not struggle to make the weight nor does it weaken him he's just not a big puncher!
billy I do not understand how you can comment on a close fight and call it a robbery when in numerous of rickys fights he aint just robbed them hes discgraced the uk this was a close fight but heffron clearly the winner you cant expect too win a fight by jabbing and holding on
