Calzaghe, the King of the Brit Bums. At the time, Lacy was good as a Dawson. Not really someone who should be at the top of your resume.
Brits have a gaggle of bums, none of them including Calzaghe will achieve the ATG status of US fighters.
Perhaps nstead of whining to get Ward to the UK, ya'll should re-focus on getting the Klits there.

Did he not beat ATG Hopkins in his back yard? Americans overhype their fighters to awful levels, ya'll think Wilder is the next HW Champion LOL, Broner was supposed to be the next big thing, Boxing in the USA is on the slide very few top quality fighters coming through, USA is now **** in the Amateurs not a Gold Medal since 2004, Not 1 medal in 2012, this will translate to the pros in a few years America will have few top fighters in 7 or 8 years. By contrast Boxing is on the up in the UK. You also conviently pass over American fighters PED use, had several people on ESB say Tony or RJJ are better SMW then Calzaghe, well Joe fought clean unlike those two so immediately ranks above both.

Americans are the kings of hindsight.

Calzaghe never beat anyone good yet he beat ATG american Wards best opponent 2 years before Ward did.

Hoping this won't be a letdown, maybe I'm too much of a pessimist sometimes. Hope both fighters will give it their all and it should be quite entertaining while it lasts.

Hatton ended up making nearly 20 million off the PPV off the Mayweather fight, 1.2 million UK PPV's, obviously that includes his purse. But he doubled his money with the PPV.

If Froch-Groves does those kind of numbers plus the gate, Froch will be in for making some serious dough. A lot more than 5 million quid.

Hard to imagine that anyone could outdraw Floyd vs Hatton in England.

Would be impressive but where Froch and Groves have an advantage is it's on at a reasonable hour in the UK.

TalkSport radio have reported that the fight sold 60,000 tickets within the first hour. They're trying to get Hearn on for an interview later.

ward is the #1 fighter in the division. Froch can fight in front of the whole world, doesn't change the fact he is second best, which in boxing matters more than how many fans you have.

If Ward wants some that £££££, then he should travel to England and fight the SMW cash cow Carl Froch.

They're sorting out the logistics before putting the rest of the tickets on sale but it's almost-guaranteed this will be a sell-out.

Hearn said he hasn't done much work on the undercard yet but Kevin Mitchell, Anthony Joshua and Luke Campbell will probably be on it.
