Curtis Woodhouse goes back on decision to retire...

Nothing in St georges post or any other that I can see that criticises Curtis at all.Its just people giving their opinion on whether he should retire or not. Obviously the final and only decision will be made by him,its just a talking point.

 

Mistake in my opinion if he does...

I was jumping around like a looney when that decision was read out in his last fight and I really like Curtis Woodhouse, always comes across as a top man and it was a fitting end to a boxing career but I can't see how he tops that achievement, that atmosphere and night.

It is not often a fighters career ends on such a high and I just see no sense to carry on now he achieved his goal.

 

Only reason being he's set a new goal? He feels like he is improving so why not?

 

shame but im not suprised. good luck to Curtis in whatever fights he gets hope he makes some money as British champion.

 

Not saying anybody is saying anything bad about but everytime I read something about me it always seems to be people saying what I can't do, just gets a bit boring after 17 years being a pro athlete, I try and focus and what I can try and do, anyway all the best to everybody, you do you, I'll do me

 

Personally would have loved to see curtis retire. Was the perfect end to a fairy tale story.

I believe it would be un-reasonable to retire now after such a performance. Being the British champion will bring the best out of Curtis as a defending champion. Not only has he another goal in attempting to win the Lonsdale belt outright but also being the champion his money for each fight will increase. So financially it makes logical sense.

 

Get in there curtis, might actually get off ma arse and go to your next fight rather than watch it on telly.

 

I've always get a kick out of proving people wrong. It's a great motivator.

It's a great honour to be British Champ, having held the title can never be taken off a fighter.

Coming off a well reported good win is a pretty good time to capitalise on a good pay day.

 

I've always been a massive Woodhouse fan from my City days and I was glad to hear him say he was retiring, it seemed a very fitting end to a great story.

But the very reason he left footie was 'cos he loves to fight, and now the dust has settled from the British title win and you realise life still has to be lived and bills paid, and reading his words earlier in this thread, I'll take a deep breath, suck it up and prepare to live through every punch with him again!

 

I dont see any shame with testing yourself until you find a level where you come up short. It's always worth continuing to aim high

 

alot of pessimistic people on here , i watched curtis give a certain frankie gavin the fight of his life and get no credit for it , just that gavins head wasnt right ... i also had a nice bet on betfair after 8 rounds got curtis at 8 to 1 ... all these talking about levels ,who mentioned stepping up ? hes the british champion , 3 defenses of that and hes got a lonssdale belt for keeps ! not to mention a nice little earner now his storys caught fire ... from pro footballer to boxer to troll hunter to british champ , thats a hollywood script if ever ive heard one ... good luck in the future , reach for the stars and if u fail , ull land in the clouds !

 

Hamilton was a weak champ but its was a fight of the year contender makes sense that mate
