Which one thing would you like to change about boxing?

    Of these three options:-

15 Round championship fights. Fighters would train differently, would show a test of character.

One title per weightclass. There will be only one true champ of each weight to make things easier and more apparent.

One promotional company to cover all boxers. All promotional companies combine to be one. Top Boy, Golden Rank whatever you wanna call it. Means everybody can fight everybody.

Which of these options will you vote for?

I'd vote for the one title per weightclass.

    I think number 2?

I would vote number 3, but I'm afraid the lack of competition for talent would cost the fighters money.

    What do you mean SD?

The competition would greatly increase because anybody and fight anybody. Who cares about their wage. Thats for them to worry about.

Well for championship fights some of them make... lets say 50k. (Which is low for a championship fight) 50k is more than what most people make in a year. And they earn it through 36mins of fighting. You can put any boxer dead or alive infront of me for 50k. Thats fast money my friend. And cat food tastes nice as well :D

I think the one title per class thing would help alot in getting the best guys to fight each other which is what we're after, right? Seems like it worked better than what we have now when there were less "Champions".

I wish for the fighters to receive the largest portion possible of revenues generated by fights. They're the ones risking their physical ass. Not the agents/promoters,etc. I think that the competition for talent facilitates this.

I get ya. Your right, i dont want promoters or whoever else taking the larger portion but if your stupid enough to not negotiate your own money then you dont deserve it. Besides, they will still be earning thousands and in some cases millions. They can afford to fight 4 times a year if they desperately need money

They get it through months of training, a lifestyle that very few have the discipline and mental strength to endure, and by putting their health at risk every time they step into the ring. And that's after their whole entourage and taxes take their cut. Don't make one of the hardest sports out there sound so easy and trivial.

Number 2, 1 belt per class means you cant have bogus champs hide behind a promoter and fight easy defenses

you want the belt you get your promoter and their promoter to make a deal if not become mandatory for a purse bid

Promoters need belts to sell fighters, without a bunch of belts to hand around they cant build up bums and avoid big fights

The fights will have to happen with one belt per class

What about people in the army? they get less money and their lives are really on the line, fighting for a cause. Boxers have it easy compared to other jobs (without sounding like a d*ck)

I hate this stupid ass argument, military is paid by government, government is paid by taxes, we could not afford to pay military huge lump sums of money per person. Athletes are paid a lot of money, because people pay to see them. When I buy a PPV it is because I want to see the fighters, and I am ok with them making millions to entertain me and other fans. I would also rather see the vast majority go to the fighter, and not a promoter or somebody like al Hayman. That is why one promotion does not work.

Also you mentioned earlier youd fight anybody for 50k. Fine, but you are not a high level athlete. Would you feel the same way if you were drawing 10's of millions and you promoter gave you 50k? Let's say the fight draws 50,000,000, would you be ok making a tenth of a percent for battling and risking your health?

Guys in the army can easily get jobs after they get back. Actually the army helps them get jobs(it looks really good on a resume). Fighters come out with brain damage and no one wants to hire them. They need to get paid more to compensate for not being able to work after.

First of all, the health issue is an ignorant point to raise. If im a boxer then i know full well the repercussions of my actions. I know that my health might be affected and if i dont like it then i wont box. Secondly, you cant just say 'what if' that 50k was part of 50mil. 'What if' i found 50mil on the floor then i wouldnt have to work. Im comparing their pay to the average of any worker. Im not agreeing that that 10% cut is right or wrong, im saying that generating 50k for a maximum of 36 minutes fighting is amazing money! Im not talking about the prep and training going into it, which of course, costs money. Im saying that your job is to fight. If you KO your opponent in 1 min then you have earn't that 50k for a minutes work. Doctors dont get paid to research, they research to give them the best opportunity to get higher up the ladder. Tyson Fury didnt get paid twice to fight david haye twice. He trained and it got canceled thus making his training pointless. He didnt get paid for that. That was his research. Besides, 50k for a championship fight is pittance. It was an example. If they are generating millions per fight then good for them.
