Does Floyd have the same respect that people gave 2 George Foreman or Mike Tyson??

Currently, Mayweather's respect exceeds that of Foreman (The 1st) and Foreman (The 2nd) because all Foreman had was a big punch and no superior boxing talent.

Tyson's level of respect exceeded that of Foreman because Mike was actually a student of the game. He really knew how to box, how to get inside and unleash combination that could get his opponent out of there.
Had Mike not suffered through Cus's death and the gold-digger Robin Givens, he would have remained undefeated for a longer period.

Mayweather is superior to both Foreman and Tyson in his level of boxing skills.
In the sport of boxing, it's the skills that pays the bills.
Due to his high level of skills, Mayweather won't have to take the brutal beating and KOs that both Tyson and Foreman suffered. Due to his skills, he could even possibly fight into his old age and perhaps break Hopkins's records for oldest fighter so this, and oldest fighter doing that.

It's only a matter of time before a boxer known for his KO skills meets a pure boxer who puts an end to their streak.

 

And a skilled boxer did what to Tyson and Foreman?

 

Respect and intimidation are two completely different things and not necessary based on how hard you can punch, I.E., Ali Vs Liston, Ali Vs Foreman, Ali Vs Shavers.
All of the three above Ali opponents had intimidation levels equal to or exceeding that of Tyson.

 

Floyd is 5'8 150lbs soaking wet. Exactly how is someone like that suppose to be intimidating out on the streets?

A bit of a strange question regarding a 130 -148 lb fighter.

He's the most skilled boxer in the world, so that should garner some respect.

He could probably take 95-99 % of men in a streetfight, regardless of their size, if that matters.

I'm not a fan, but I respect his skills and accomplishments.

 

So is this some new category of criteria on which we all must evaluate a boxer? Their out-of-ring intimidation factor? Or is this another made up standard to try to discredit Floyd?

Is he less great because women and children (who aren't related to him) don't cower in his presence?

Floyd is an average size guy, so on the street he won't get guys fearing his presence.
Put shaq out on the street and dudes are getting out of his way, for one reason only, he has the ability to take you out due to pure size alone

I grew up with many dudes much larger than me who played Semi-pro football and at 22 were 6"6" and weighted 230-300 lbs to my 6'0", 180lbs.

It didn't take me long to realize although these guys were big, they were much slower than me. If I stood in front of them, I was toast, but if I used my speed and mived I could hit them, move to their other side and hit them twice more before they even reacted and turned.
I learned to make many a bigger, stronger, taller bully quit fighting this way.

Just because someone is big and may look tough, doesn't really mean it is so.

In boxing, all that matters is getting your opponent's respect in the first round or 3.
