    Agreed.

GGG's best shots are going to have no effect on the 190lb JCC jr.

GGG will probably dominate most of the early rounds but from the second half of the fight JCC jr's size and strength will start telling and i think he'll stop GGG by around the 10th or 11th round.

If I was GGG's team, I would fight Quillin first. I think GGG would beat Quillin, but I'm not confident in him beating Chavez.

I hope this fight get made.
I'm liking Golovkin's style and if he beats Chavez he could shut up all the critics and show he's the real deal.
Chavez is a really good fighter and I think that he is the favorite when the fight is at Super Middleweight.
    This could be a slug-fest.

Just like he's stopped 2 of his last 9 opponents even with his size advantage.... Yeah. He can take training as serious as he wants, but he's never going to be as good at something that someone has been doing for 20 years. And I don't think he's as strong as people make him out to be. Someone like GGG who knows wrestling to some extent, knows about leverage which will minimize Jr's size advantage.

GGG can make a huge statement if he knocks out Chavez, who'll have about 20 lbs on him. I think Golovkins got it in him.

Uh . . . I think you mean GGG can really box. Just look at his amateur career versus Jr.'s (or his lack of one).

Jr. gets hit a lot, and he hasn't faced a real heavy hitter. But he probably will buy a greater weight advantage against GGG. Therefore, GGG wins an UD or possibly stops Jr. on cuts . . . Baby Chavez just gets hit way too much!

I'm just glad it looks like GGG might get a fight where the outcome is actually in doubt.

Good litmus test fight as well, to see if his power does carry up. I think it will, but you never know for sure. If GGG can put a real hurt on Jr despite weight disparity, then Ward fight becomes interesting.

At 168, I would favor JCC. But I think GGG is a beast. Great fight.

--Given Chavez's struggles with making weight, the fight match would require that Golovkin move up to the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.--

Did Bob say this, or is it speculation from the writer?

    'the fight match'?

Why would GGG move up a division to fight a much bigger man?

    Cant they agree a catchweight - say 164, with a strictly-enforced max in-ring weight.
Without this in place the fight is irrelevant.
Chavez is far too much bigger than GGG nowadays - he is at least a light-heavy in reality.

Hey, we will finally see Golovkins defence and skills. SO far he has mostly steamrolled through his opponents with power and no one has really pushed him.

And what when Jr fails to make it?

"Go home people. The fight is off"?

I think Chavez will wear him down, heavy punches and a cast iron chin. We have not seen how gennedy will do against top tier opposition so his limits are unknown. And it's foolish to say Jr. Does not hit hard. He may not throw dynamite 1 punch KO's, but he does throw hard digging bunches that will do damage. I am pumped for this to happen.
