Cedric Agnew weighs in 175.8, has 45 mins to lose 0.8 lbs

Agnew has a pretty record, but I can't find much video of him on YouTube. Not good.

As much as people have been bashing Stevenson for fighting Fonfara soon, Kovalev's fight tomorrow isn't any better.

I read somewhere Kovalev gave Agnew some mini gloves with his sig so that he could hang them up in his car. If Agnew did that, you'd be talking all kinds of **** about him.

Fonfara is actually a much better opponent than Agnew. Not that the Fonfara fight is a good fight, but Fonfara is at least a top 10 guy and has been in here with some good fighters.

AGNEW IS THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD STEP UP TO KOVALEV.
Kovalev would much rather be fighting Stevenson.
This info. is all over the board the last 48 hours.

 

He looked pretty gaunt the first go around.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him crumble early doors.

 

None of that changes the fact that Agnew is grossly overmatched here and is a worse opponent than Fonfara. I'm not blaming Kovalev, buts it is what it is. I checked the odds today. Stevenson is a 20/1 favorite. That's pretty lopsided. However, Kovalev is now a 50/1 favorite. Agnew was fighting 6 rounders not too long ago.

 

They should raise the LHW to 180. Too big of a gap between Cruiser and LHW imo. People sitting in the middle surely struggle to lose weight but are too small to be competitive at cruiser.

 

I would agree that on the opposition beat, Fonfara has a far better resume out of him and Agnew.

I just have doubts on how Fonfara's chin will stand up against such a noted puncher like Stevenson and it could be all over in a couple of rds.

Agnew though is a real mystery man, he's obviously a bit of a powder puff puncher and more of a jab and move type boxer which could cause problems for Kovalev like it did against a craft veteren like Darnell Boone in their first fight.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kovalev wins a close decision that many thought Agnew won.
