Saw Paul Ingle at the the last Hull show, sat in seats worth £40, to me it showed a complete lack of respect for someone who in the same venue fought at world level. Surely Eddie could have arranged for inner ringside seats at the very least.
There's probably a hell of a lot of people to get in ringside, fighters families, friends, people who work for Matchroom and Sky. sponsors, press and all manor of people that need to be wowed and impressed
I agree he should be included in the ringside comps on local shows that he would be likely to attend Paul was a real good pro who almost paid the ultimate price for our entertainment and was cut down in his prime , just as he was about to start earning decent money Which is a real shame as the injuries he sustained in the ring will prevent him from ever working to provide for his family But he is now in better health after loosing a lot of weight and has his own boxing academy .
Comp tickets are a nice little treat not a right for everyone that has ever stepped in a ring. A nice gesture yes but nothing more.
I agree but Paul Ingle is not just any fighter, local lad at a local show, had is life changed permenantly whilst not making massive money in a sport that we all love. I'm not saying he should have front row seats at every fight around the country but in Hull I firmly believe a couple of tickets out of respect wouldn't go a miss. Just my opinion, would Michael Watson be left to sit in £40 tickets??
How many people was he with? It is very unlikely to be just one ticket he would want, if he is with his wife/gf thats an extra one, kids? Friends? He isn't going to want to sit apart from them is he. It would of been a nice gesture but not one that should be granted in perpetuity, plus who knows if the promoter even knew he was going to attend.
Sat with Sonny Pollard (Steve's son) didn't see anybody else with them, granted I don't know if Edie knew he was attending but when you bill the whole night on fighters from Hull it would of been nice to have a local ex world champion (most successful fighter in history from the area) there ringside.
