Is Sergey Kovalev the perfect Bernard Hopkins victim

    Sergey Kovalev has the skill set to beat a lot of fighters but Bernard Hopkins isn't one of them. In my opinion he's the quintessential Hopkins vicim; undefeated, flat foot, come-forward, slow, methodical puncher, upright. I could very well envision a scenario where he faces Hopkins and losses every round.

    I know a lot of fight fans are really high on this guy and I think he's an exiting fighter but I don't see anything in him that would lead me to believe he's anymore than a 2007-2008 version of Kelly Pavlik. I don't think this guy could possibly be the best Light Heavyweight.

    Hopkins has nothing to keep Kovalev off of him plus he can't fight a full three minute round anymore. Kovalev would simply outwork Hopkins.

    Now perhaps you give Hopkins stamina and power you would have a different fight but this is real life, not Fight Night 2014.

    Re: the topic. I could see Popkins possibly grappling his way to a rather boring decision but at his age he just doesn't have the firepower to ruin a young fighter like he once did. Even if he lost, Kovalev would bounce back fine because he wouldn't take a lot of damage physically.

    I think Kovalev is too fast for Hopkins to grab and hold all fight long .....No way Hopkins can I punch and hold for 12 rounds against Sergey...

    Hopkins said he would never fight Kovalev or Stevenson, there is a reason for such.......................

    I doubt old man Bernard can beat either Stevenson or Kovalev, but he has proven on many occasions that his fights are not safe bets

    Can't tell if people are serious.

    Bernard would get hurt, BADLY. This fight is literally too dangerous for his life.
