People saying he can fight at 154?

Huh? He has NEVER made 154 or fought there. You would think if he could make 154 easily he would,as it would give him a size advantage & be better for his career

FACT: The last time GGG did a fight day weigh in on HBO he was 171, a damn near light heavyweight

GGG seems like a good sized 160 to me. He has broad shoulders and is pretty muscular.

Until he fights at 154 dont say he can make it,or is a small 160

He is a medium sized MW, who could make LMW. If you are 168 on fight night, you can fight at LMW too.

You're pretty much just guessing here. Mayweather is 150 on fight night. Even he doesn't think he can make 140. Anyway, Golovkin is a prototypical MW. The division suits him perfectly.

If he's 171lbs in the ring then he's an average sized middleweight. Could he make light middle, possibly but he'd be a huge light middle like Canelo.

171 is the heaviest he's ever been all his other fights he was 168-170. Canelo, Lara, Angulo, Trout, Andrade, Martirosyan have all been heavier in recent fights what does that make GGG when most top JMW's are bigger?

Haha, I know why you posted this, so in case he ever fights Ward or Froch or Chavez and say gets beaten by them you want them to gain full credit for beating a legit SMW, ain't gonna happen, he's a small MW.

You realize 170 is pretty much the standard for Middleweights, right? And there of plenty of guys at 154 who weigh the same as Golovkin or more, including Canelo, Trout, Angulo, Andrade, etc. He's certainly not big enough for 168 yet, as most SMWs come in to the ring around 180.

He has gotten a bit bigger the past year or so. He could have been a 154, but with 400 am fights - he is just a lot more comfortable with not cutting harsh weight, in favor of stamina over power. Because he already has plenty of power at MW, no need to risk not being 100% and drained.

Mayweather could EASILY make 140, without losing an ounce of fat. He was like 147 or 148 last time, sweating off 7 pounds or so would be no problem. In his case, he enjoys being at a weight where he doesn't do any cutting at all, because it helps his stamina. His game isn't predicated on size or power, so he sees it more beneficial to fight where he walks around. But believe me, if he wanted to go fight at 140, he could do it with zero problems.

Um, Alvarez was 172 vs Trout so not sure what your point is?

GGG vs. the winner of Alvarez vs. the winner of Cotto vs. Martinez is gonna be a monster fight.
