It sad to see Ward have to go thru what he is talking about in this interview. I see him as being just as skilled as Mayweather, though Mayweather has been doing it longer than him. He's the last US gold medalist and really hes been promoted terribly. I just hope he lands with someone who will actually promote him

Wards not close to mayweather. I think ward is highly overrated. I'm not a fan of floyd or andre but all u gotta do is watch them fight. You see floyd n go..."damn you can't hit this guy. And he lands every punch." You see ward n say..."damn, are you allowed to hold that much? And DAMN that head butt looked like it hurt."

    Defensively, he's even with Mayweather.

    Offensively, he's a step behind.

His defense is holding. Floyd's offense in a right hand. If anything u got it backwards. From a true floyd hater (not "hater" just hater) no ones defense is on par with floyds

i've never seen floyd come forward and smother aggressive fighters the way ward does. i've never seen floyd fight in the trenches the way ward does. on the flip side...i've never seen ward sit back and make someone miss as much as floyd does. they are both highly skilled boxers with different strengths and weaknesses. both are former olympians. one won a gold medal...the other didn't. one aligned himself with a big time promoter, the other one didn't. floyd at one point in his career was put on the back burner for comments he made about the contract hbo offered him being 'slave wages.' ppl forget that. floyd was also on the back burner because of dlh when they were both signed to toprank. ward has come a long way himself. after being signed to a deal initially with hbo...him and his team decided to forego that contract and fly under the radar because hbo was trying to play match maker and was matching him tougher than his team wanted in the beginning...and not doing much to develop him. that move paid off because here we are several years later and this dude is arguably the 2nd best skilled boxer in the whole sport. he has an impressive resume. he's right....this is a business...and he's been growing his business for a lifetime. the fans who think they know, don't. the man is making the moves he needs to make and he will get the fights he needs to get when the timing is right.

Naw, you just partially blind, and half dumb with no knowledge of boxing.
When Ward gets inside, he doesn't act like Vlad and hold until the ref steps in to break them. Rather, he positions himself to throw short left hooks, body shots and short uppercuts until they break.
My one peeve with Ward is he goes left hook crazy and under-utilizes his straight right. When he does use the straight right it is a thing of beauty. He connected on Froch and Kessler with this right and it shook them each time. Then he goes back to throwing left hooks and we never see the straight right again.
Mayweather throws a wide variety of punches from the outside. Rarely is he willing to fight inside like Ward, although I'm sure he can. He probably is leery of head butts and cut and prefers to keep his distance.

I think Rigo and Mayweather are both more skilled than him.

Floyd doesn't throw a wide variety of punches period. And what your describing with ward is punching during a clinch. That's not "positioning" is just clinching n punching. With his ****in head all in a guys face. Effective? Yea. I give it to you that it works but his style is damn near unwatchable.

Your Mom said the same thing, and isn't that lucky for you. Else, you would have been crammed in the hospital disposable tissue bag.
