What venue would be big enough for a Frampton World title?

people have crazy unrealistic ideas of how good boxing ticket sales in ireland is.

 

If it DOES happen in Ireland (no guarantee) - they should stick with Odessy.
Personally I would rather pay more for the guaranteed atmosphere, view, and comfort.
Forget outdoors for boxing, particularly in this country.

 

Windsor Park is a toilet with one end missing at the minute, down for badly needed redevelopment so that is definitely out. Don't think present capacity is anywhere near 18,000 at the minute.
Ravenhill now holds 18,000 as redevelopment complete although much of that is terracing, so seats would need to go in. That would probably be the best bet, would still hold more than the Odyssey when it's set up for boxing, so if anywhere, it will be there.

 

bored of all the oh he's Irish...he's not british...let it go no-one cares as far as Im concerned I want him to do well wether he's Irish, Scottish, Welsh whatever.

If you mainly want irish fans then do it in Ireland if you want to increase the numbers do it in UK, just my opinion of course.

I would think Frampton does have a decent fanbase outside of ireland / Northern ireland wherever.

Without getting into Northern Ireland politics, Ravenhill would also be percieved as more of 'neutral' venue that more people from both sides of the community would be comfortable going to whereas some people may not be comfortable going to Windsor or Casement - I couldn't care less where it's held and would go to any of those 3 venues but it is Northern Ireland and the reality is that some people might not go to Windsor / Casement .

 

Don't think he would sell that many tickets outside of Belfast at the moment to be honest, a fight against Santa Cruz at the Odyssey arena would be electric for atmosphere.

 

Santa Cruz got half a mill for an undercard fight last time out, he is signed with Haymon and a big draw to GBP

Barry's pockets are not deep enough to get him over regardless

 

Not all the money has to come from Barry himself.
For example - 10,0000 people @ €100 = €1,000,000.
Then there is TV money.
also Sponsors, backers etc. etc etc.

It is possible to come up with enough loot to get a big name over here.
It can be done.
But it will cost - thats for sure.
It cost Sturm to entice Barker over to Germany, but he was willing to take the hit financially. Barry and co may have to do similar.
In any case there is no guarantee the fight will happen over here at all, money or no money.

 

He'd sell big down south, i'm from the Republic the only times all my mates watch boxing, i mean like my mates that only watch boxing casually the only fighters they watch are, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Froch and Frampton they always watch Carl Frampton and i've been with them to a Frampton fight belive me he is known by many fans down south and would sell out the O2 easily against LSC could he do a stadium down south honestly not right now.

 

Not saying it can't be done, but fact Santa Cruz is a camp, big seller in the states and with Haymon make it much more unlikely. Infact it would take stupid money to get him over IMO.

Windsor Park is getting flattened soon so that's a definite no.

Ravenhill is a potential venue, loads of corporate spots there too.

Aviva is a possibility too, though would need a decent undercard.

Personally would keep it at the Odyssey, atmosphere is electric!!

 

Wembley arena size I reckon. Not speaking geographically, but a good size indoor arena

 

people are dreaming suggestions stadiums down south. Just cant see it.

 

Frampton has a fight with a live opponent tomorrow night. Lets not forget that. Even if he wins, there is still no guarantee that a fight with LSC will happen here.
