great win by kirby... he posts in here doesnt he as HTMONARO. so if he is in here dont worry what anyone says deserved the win.

 

I understood the enforced rest was mandatory? At least in most places.

Thought the winner would come from Kirby or Briggs. Happy for Mick to get the win.

 

Briggs quit with a suspected broken arm in his first fight not before flooring and winning first rd 10-8 against Kirby, the bloke in the second fight quit because of exhaustion in the first rd after going an extra rd in his opening fight, and the big fat kid won the fight in the final only to be deducted a point to force a draw and final rd eliminator in which his 150kg frame was unable to handle.

Mick Kirby can consider himself very lucky and should take the $20k and run.

 

Popular win for Kirby. Not sure I like the sound of the "risking more than many people know" part though. Won't even ask, but it sounds like he should not have been in the ring.

So basically we had a 45yr old guy who was KO'd in the previous 12 days and another guy with a detached retina still allowed to fight? Where are the authorities in all of this?

If Kirby had off gotten seriously hurt I'm sure peoples tones would be different. Good on him for win but time to concentrate on family life, no use risking eyesight.

 

an entertaining fight night, much better in many ways than many others of late.

The heavies were fun and Zap fight a slug fest.

I agree Zap is nothing like he was. No head movement or footwork and just banging away. The kid was awesome once.

 

Very much enjoyed the Zappa fight and the Heavies final. Good format to improve upon for the next one, isn't that right girls?

Firstly I was very happily retired,like most,due to obligations I had to return and compete.This way I can fulfill my family's expectations.I have succeeded with this.I absolutely agree I'm not the relentless fighter I once was,but I did defeat the fighters at hand(ordinary)and have done myself proud.i dug deep to get off the canvis twice to take it out.

they may not have been world beaters, but they all showed huge ticker and put on a great show.

they took some huge bombs and kept coming forward, some really surprised, well done to all.

 

I thought zap was doing great till he gassed, give some credit, taking a 12 rounder after 6 months inactivity.
