needed to happen, unfortunately no loyalty in boxing but he has to put his career first. I fancy Bika to wear him down personally, not a easyfight
probably got sick of fighting in shopping centres while other people are getting stadium fights, don't blame him for leaving.
He has made the right decision hennesy struggles to put on a decent event. For the last year or 2 Degale has been fighting in shopping centres or small arenas. Going to either frank or Hearn will get him on better shows and out when he wants. If he goes over to the us he will get on some decent undercards fair play to him.
Agreed... he's looked more Morrisons than Waitrose :hat That said though, he's still got himself into a strong position in that this year he can be going for a world title.
Not a huge surprise. He dumped Frank after he got him a European title shot off the back of his loss to Groves.
It was very childish from DeGale. An attempt at playground style bullying and people just don't like to see that. The problem with Degale is firstly he's an utter moron and secondly is he just isn't a likeable bloke. I remember him talking about having that "slick mayweather style". What an idiot. It'd be interesting to see how he conducted himself in the rematch to a Groves rematch.
why is everyone slagging him for leaving that fat idiot? every single boxer needs to look after themselves and get the best deal possible.
I wasnt a Degale fan but I think his last few iFilm interviews have done him the world of good, he's clearly really embarrassed by his behaviour in the build up to the Groves fight, and he comes across as a pretty decent bloke. Hennessy is a small hall promoter nicking a living with a TV deal, and that looks like its circling the drain anyway. Degale was keeping busy and creeping up the rankings but his profile was stagnating. As well as that, he never seemed to be a priority for Mick despite his potential, I know theres an allegiance to Fury but it feels like even Kid Galahad gets more of a nod than Degale did with that stable. I'd personally like to see him follow in Ash Theophanes path and take a run at working with The Money Team, I think its a good match. Sauerland is also a good shout as most Super middleweight action is europe based to be fair. But if he is jumping in with Eddie, you cant blame the guy, its a tough business and he has to look lout for number 1 and make that money, they cant all get a cushty punditry job when the career is done. One thing is for sure the sooner BT step in and take a slice of boxing the better, Matchroom are having it all their own way at the moment and hopefully BT can throw their weight behind someone and make a market of it.
