Its the in thing to do after a loss

    1) Change trainer
    2) Change your weight division

End of the day, it was an amazing achievement by Team Burns to get where they did

Ricky's Judas? People are going overboard. Everyone has a right to do what's best for their career. Billy and Ricky went on a great run, i think Ricky has made the right choice for himself if he selects an American based coach, change in scenery may do him some good. Roach or Ronnie Shield would be a great fit for Ricky, won't change too much and try to improve on what he has.

Billy's done great for Ricky, extremely admirable that he's come on here and wished, Ricky, the best of luck in the future. People have called this guy all sorts, but you can see his class in this thread.

Nobody can deny that Billy has done a great job with Ricky and I'm not sure it will benefit him in moving on but i suppose if he doesn't do it now he might regret it when he finishes his career!

Sometimes people change after a defeat but i think this is different because as lots of people on this forum pointed out in his last 3 fights Ricky hasn't looked himself, that doesn't always mean it is anybodies fault:

    1. Ricky might feel stale and thinks that a change of scenery will do him good
    2. Like all relationships sometimes you just get too comfortable with each other and become too close and that can lead to 1 or both parties to become complacent in their methods

I have seen the second one up close with my brother Matty, i was telling him something for months but when Bob Shannon pointed the same thing out he took it on board. It can be very hard when you are too close to identify the difference between friendship and the coach/boxer relationship.

Maybe it has nothing to do with either of these 2 reasons but I don't think Eddie hearn can be blamed, surely he hasn't told Ricky who he wants to train him??

I'm sure Billy would always be there for Ricky if he still needed advice on how things are going but I don't see anything wrong with what Ricky has done because boxing is such a short career you need to do what you feel is best.

Good luck with the other guys in the gym Billy and good luck to Ricky on his future bouts.

I smelt a rat when i seen Tony Sims in Burn's corner in the Crawford fight. I wonder who's idea was that? Sims was never in Ricky's corner before.

Then when I heard Billy was down south the other week preparing Andreas Evensen Hearn had a meeting with Ricky at Morrison's gym with his manager. You know the old saying "When the cats away the mice will play" but if Ricky is stupid enough to listen to someone like Hearn then good luck to him, he'll need it.

At the end of the day it was Ricky that showed lack of heart in the Crawford fight not Billy and everybody knows that. If Ricky is looking for a quick fix he wont get it by ditching his trainer. Maybe Burns is not the nice guy we thought he was.

Bit shitty of Ricky, but I suppose he does have to try something new. Lots of credit to you Billy for what you have achieved with him.
