You have to first show interest in a fight before you go into negotiation. When Chad Dawson called out Ward, Ward showed interest by saying yes we will love to fight Chad Dawson. What we've heard from GGG trainer when Ward was brought up was how GGG was a superster and they needed time to establish themselves at middle weight. The reason why Jr called out GGG instead of ward is that he knows GGG is the easier fight. With GGG you know what to prepare for. Ward on the other hand bring multiple dimension which most fighters a not prepared for. He can fight you on the inside, as well as the outside. He can bully you if the need be and also get down and dirty if thats what it comes down to.

Stevenson called out Ward live on HBO, but Ward refused to even answer him. Stevenson even said he would fight Ward at 168, but again Ward ran away.

Golovkin is totally superior to Abraham, would knock him out.................Chavez is a much bigger draw than Ward, so Golovkin will fight Chavez for more money. Golovkin is a middleweight and Chavez is a cruiserweight...............If Ward is so brave, then why not fight Stevenson? Chavez refused to fight Ward in Ward's home town with Ward's personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., nobody should be that stupid. Ward is a cheater...............

Kind of wrong, Team GGG was just more interested in 160 that seeking fight with Ward specifically.

Since Ward is in promotional litigation and cant fight right now anyway, they probably thought they were being polite by not bigging themselves up using Wards name and making it look like Ward was ducking them or something.

Seriously though, Ward needs to get his business end straight before people act like anyone is ducking anything in regards to Ward. Ward wont even be fighting first half of 2014 at all. According to some rumors, maybe not even in 2014 period.

And Ward was saying the GGG fight will bigger down the line, he's cool to wait. He may have changed his opinion in the past couple of months, but apparently not enough to call him out directly, much less make an offer.

Either way you seem to be acknowledging the guy's ability, if it'll take p4p #2, Lineal Champ one division up to expose this hypejob.

Abraham's reign at MW was pretty poor as well: after his win against the future journeyman Miranda, where he got like 15 mins medical timeouts for a legal punch he was spoonfed with soft opposition like El****, Ayala, Simon, Demers, Oral and Gevor before he moved to SMW where he got schooled again and again and has like a 10 percent knockout ratio. Golovkin late TKO or 120-108.

People forget how highly regarded Abraham was. He was the favorte to win the S6 over proven SMWs like Froch and Kessler. Abraham at his peak was considered a better fighter than GGG. Hindsight is 20/20 however.

Froch wasn't proven. See Ronnie's post for Abe's output at MW

He was more proven at SMW than GGG is at MW right now.

My point is it's easy to dissect AA now after he's fought so many top fighters while GGG hasn't fought anyone near the top of the division. Most people are high on GGG because he's looked great against limited opposition.

The same thing happened with AA and Bute, except AA had more hype than GGG does now. I think GGG fans should remember that when they talk about GGG.

Please thank you very much sanity to this forum. Been trying to explain to these GGGtards that the reason why they're picking GGG overwhelmingly is because he is undefeated and Abraham is not. GGG is not doing anything at middle weight division that we have not seen before. This guy is no second coming. Kelly Pavlik and Arthur Abraham were doing the same thing GGG is doing right now to better competition some years back. If GGG musters the confidence to fight Ward, Froch, and dirrel level of figters, you will see him get pummeled and stopped. This guys is no James Toney who can evade assault from much larger men that hit way harder than the 154 fighters that GGG accustomed to fighting.

GGG might just be vying for a shot at ABE.

By fighting Chavez Jr, he'll be putting himself @ the #1 ranking for both WBO and WBC, and likely in the Ring top 5.

    Bika and Abe take note.

While Bika is still formidable, Abe is as always 1 dimensional, and the WBO is keen on K2 making and taking mandos. Perhaps they enforce this one.:yep

Sauerland can only hide that title for so long.

When GGG gets his win over Jr, he'll be looking for a title fight. Abe will hide by signing for Steiglitz 4, and GGG will likely be stuck with Bika, but if they strip Abe for ducking, GGG can slug it out with Groves or Oosthuzen since DeGale will want no part of that.:deal

Disagree on Froch. Before the S6 he only fought unranked nobody Pascal, and washed up MW Taylor.

Youre right Abe was hyped a lot, though not as much as GGG now. Remember GGG just won FOTY in the Ring readers poll. Not that thats a plus for GGG. What is a plus is his far superior boxing skills and instincts vs Abe

    Washed up Taylor?

Most people thought he won the rematch win Pavlik but that somehow indicates he is washed up?:patsch

So if GGG is FOTY in the Ring readers poll, how is Froch unproven when Pascal and Taylor are light years better than anyone GGG has fought?

Of course Abe had more hype than GGG. You think if there was a S6 at SMW GGG would be one of the favorites like AA was?
