I would see the point in Ricky parting company with Billy if they hadn't achieved anything at World level especially at the age he is now, but Ricky improved immensely under Nelson and became a two weight world champion with ten world title fights. So i don't see why Ricky should feel the need to move on now especially with what him and Billy have achieved in the past. I mean there isn't many trainers out there (certainly not in the UK) who have the experience of Billy Nelson. Billy has been in the corner for over 20 world title fights between Ricky Burns and Scott Harrison. I suppose it's Ricky's choice at the end of the day, but i can't see him improving only time will though?
Uncalled for mate try boxing 10 rounds with a broken jaw, going through the pain he did before and after the operation and knowing you've got to do it all again against a class act like Crawford. You really should show more respect, if you couldn't do it yourself you shouldnt give folk stick how did:good
Is there a specific fight you are referring to here ? Vs Gonzalez he battled through when he was being battered, Beltran he fought 10 rounds with a broken jaw and against Crawford he just wasn't on Crawfords level. There's a difference between lack of ability and lack of effort.
It might be uncalled for but you can't tell me he gave 100% in his last fight. He gave an overrated Crawford far to much respect. Your right I couldn't do what Ricky has done Iam not a pro boxer but what I could do is give 100% in anything that I do. He is well paid, it should be a minimum requirement for any fighter. Do you honestly think he gave 100% in his last fight? If your answer is yes then he'll be lucky to win a British title again, never mind a WT.
Burns made a choice, Billy seems to be able to accept it and not be bitter or hate on him, so why can't everybody follow his lead?
I don't think anybody on here hates Burns, he's a hard guy to hate. I think it's the right move for him, it can't do any harm and a change of scenery can be a good thing for anybody. What BN says on here and what he's really thinking will be two different things. Don't forget all the nonsense he has spouted about harrison in the past.
He was completely outclassed and acknowledged that. He gave what he had. While you and me wouldn't have lost it smiling that's just how some react, everyone's different but I have no doubt Ricky done all he could.
Well said Billy , looks like he will be in a final eliminator for the WBC on the 27th. Here's hoping anyway , a take it brophy will be back in that card bill?
It seem your the only one who can't move on mate and it's got **** all to do with you as well, typical :rofl:rofl
