The writing has been on the wall for a while. He was quite fortunate not to have a had a string of losses in recent years.

That being said, he still generates big crowds of his countrymen, and always gives his best effort. As long as he stays away from the upper echelon of HWs, I think he may still have a few fights left.

Absolutely. He would have never been rated for as long as he has had this not been such a terribly weak era.

 

He can make some good money over the next few years being a gatekeeper. Unless he has made millions, he probably needs to keep fighting. Adamek will still be a good name on your record for a while.

I agree with JETSKI, it's time for TA to call it quits, he's going to be running for European Parlament in May anyways, so I don't think boxing is his main focus anymore

 

I'd like to see him notch a fiftieth and final victory in his home country against someone like Szpilka and retire. But perhaps Szpilka isn't safe enough for that. Someone with a minor name though. Wawrzyk, perhaps. Just a goodbye in front of the hometown crowd, thanks for the memories, etc.

 

I was just about to write something like that. Retirement match for his 50th win in Poland would be a great ending for his career. Plus if he was to fight Wawrzyk (who is somewhat risky but still an ok choice at this stage of Adamek's career) it could be a major event since Wawrzyk is very well known among the boxing fans in Poland.

 

he's received his fair share of gifts...hang 'em up unless he wants to do a farewell tour against other old timers or no hopers.

 

His career is only going one way. The prudent thing to do would be to retire.

 

He's a prize fighter. He fights for money and prestige.

He doesnt have to be a top 10 to have good paydays and prestige.

If he wants to move back permanently to Poland, then so be it....he's got 5-6 big fights there if he wants em, and another 2-3 million in purse money for his efforts.

Most of us would love to be able to earn 3 million over 3 yrs and retire when we're 40.:think

the only Polish HW worth metioning he could possibly fight would be Szpilka, and his promoters won't let him go anywhere near Adamek, for any amount of money

 

If Arreola takes the title, beat him up again, and retire as a World Champion belt holder.
