Tyson cleaned out the division if you throw Bowe, Lewis, Holyfield, Douglas and possibly Ray Mercer ( I don't remember Tyson fighting him ).

Francisco Bojado, although he was mostly hyped by boxing media types moreso than board posters.

Corrales - he never EVER beat a top level boxer in his career EVER - he went life and death with B level Castillo/Casamayor and beaten by tomato can Clottey

Calzaghe - never EVER fought someone who at the time of the fight was a top level boxer - with the exception of 43 year old Hopkins who beat him only to lose to the judges. Calzaghe threw a billion punches per round but they did absolutely nothing, yet judges were blind enough to give him the rounds.

Oscar DLH - dominated by Whitaker but got a gift decision, dominated by Sturm but got a gift decision, clearly lost to Floyd but was still given a gift on one of the scorecards, lost to every top level guy he fought (past prime and padded record guys like Camacho and Chavez don't count) - Mosley x2, Hopkins, Pacquiao, etc. Only "good" performance was when he ran away from trinidad for 3 rounds

Chavez Sr - never beat an A level boxer - Meldrick Taylor hadn't beaten anyone prior to the Chavez fight and he still needed a miracle to pull off the win, Haugen and Camacho are B level, got dominated by Whitaker

Canelo - never beat a top level boxer in his life EVER - crippled Mosley with rigor mortis doesnt count

Lacy - finished by shot RJJ. Yet people try to use this hype job as validation that Calzaghe was a so called elite fighter

Ricky Hatton - his best win is C level Malignaggi. did nothing notable in any of his wins. Got Kod the only two times he fought A level competition. Don't act like Tzyu in the last fight of his career is a great win.

Hamed - beat no names before getting showed up by Barrera. paper champion dominating a weak division

Vitali Klitschko - has never beaten an A level boxer in his life. Got demolished by 38 year old past prime worst shape of his life Lennox Lewis (the only man who somewhat resembled an elite boxer on Vitalis career) and idiotic fans try to use his slimmest of leads on the scorecards as validation that he "won" the fight. I guess Tommy Hearns "won" against Ray Leonard because he was winning on the scorecards before rd 14.

Wlad Klitschko - got demolished by Brewster Purity and Sanders, all C level boxers. Barely squeaked by Sam Peter. Never beat an elite boxer in his life EVER

I already explained why Lacy was an overrated bum. When you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk.

DLH beat Trinidad and was robbed, the overwhelming majority of people agree. I still do concede he was very overrated.

Wlad Klitschko barely squeeked by Peter? While it's true he was in serious trouble when he got knocked down multiple times in a round, he absolutely dominated all of the other rounds.

Yup, both well established world class fighters that had gotten some hype (which they deserved) before losing their biggest fight, just like the fighters OP mentioned. Really though, I was just giving him some other examples that fit his bull**** criteria of who is a hype job (well...Berto and Linares are arguable, but the others proved themselves at the top level, even that **** Broner), as it seemed obvious he was trying to make it a race/nationality thing.

Speaking of hype jobs, check out the 2000 U.S. Olympic boxing team. Members included:

    -Lacy
    -Jermain Taylor
    -Calvin Brock
    -Dante Craig
    -Michael Bennett
    -Ricardo Williams Jr.

That's some serious hype followed by epic failure.

Dante Craig is a good shout. I remember watching him fight at the Olympic trials at Foxwoods casino and he looked like a beast. How quickly some guys can go under when they can't make the proper transition to the pro's.

I think it's fair to say that Oscar lost that fight, rather than tito won it
