Seething that this **** has been stuck on the Froch v Groves undercard. Hopefully I will need a long **** when this is on.
Degale has swapped promoters 3 times but is still stuck with the thing which hinders his career the most - Jim McDonnell.
In essence that is right, but I think because of the one thing that hnders Degale the most which is himself!
Will Froch even have to fight another mandatory next? Groves obviously was a mandatory and the IBF demanded the rematch
In his interview with Kugan the other day, Eddie said Froch would probably get permission to do a voluntary as the Groves clashes are essentially two mandatorys. Whereas Groves would have to have a mandatory.
If Froch beats Groves then it will be Froch v Degale at the City ground. If Groves beats Froch then it will be Groves v Degale at Stamford bridge. Exciting times for British boxing it seems.
Good work by Hearn - I was critical of the undercard last week but if he can gets decent fight for Mitchell then he's done a good job.
Like most have said it is a good move for Degale but would have loved him to go the WBC route and then a unification. The Bika fight would have been tough and if he lost then he would have lost the big pay day for fighting the Froch Groves winner so can see why the IBF route has been chosen as it is a less risky way for another all British Clash. Be interesting to see what happens of Paul Smith can get his WBO shot and pull of the Abraham victory (as highly unlikely as him winning is...)
