Who wins this battle of Light Heavyweight bangers?

Qawi was more of the swarming, bob and weaving, high workrate type, while Galindez was more of a luring counter-puncher off the ropes. Both liked to bang in close, both showed good counter-punching skills and head movement. Both were very strong, stocky fighters. How does it go down?

I personally think Qawi's pressure would be the difference, therefore I'd take him to win a Decision or possibly late stoppage.

You sick *******. I've never seen Galindez fight, but I know enough to know this would be a brilliant, brutal fight. When you are making these fights, does it sometimes make you furious that they can and will never happen? And that the powers that be can't even make the best fights going RIGHT NOW.

When I think about something like Walker-Monzon, I sometimes just want to cry.

100%, I feel this way often with fights like these.

There's footage of Galindez's fights with Marvin Johnson(at the end of his run) and Richie Kates on Youtube by the way.

Thanks man. He looks like a ******* and he's on my list of men to see. When I get over this Esparragoza kick i'll look him up.

I think Qawi's a tough night for any 175-pounder who can't use a combination of height/reach and speed to try to make sure they landed a lot more than Dwight does.

Anybody standing inside his punching range has a lot to deal with: Qawi was extremely strong and durable, had an underrated defense (hiding and ducking behind the big left shoulder), surprisingly good jab, excellent timing with a counter right hand after he ducked your right hand, and a lot of energy.

This would be an exciting fight. But Galindez wasn't a guy who could outbox Qawi while backing away. He usually tried to win wars of attrition by piling up the power shots on the other guy. He did it with sporadic action and flurries, though. Against Qawi, time that was usually his rest time would be time spent getting hit. Victor wouldn't be able to change that course with a big shot here.

Qawi by clear UD, with Galindez having a pretty puffy face afterward.

Im gunna take Galindez, its gunna be amazinly ferocious at times, and this really can go either way, but i think Galindez' classy skills on the counter would get him a couple rounds that make the difference - just one of many possible scenarios though here

I've been watching a lot of Galindez lately.

This a great match-up - I'll have to think about this one though I'm leaning slightly towards Galindez. He was an absolute beast in the ring with one of the broadest backs on a fighter I've ever seen.

Interesting fight. Galindez was a bull, but he learned a bit about boxing and subtlety as time went on. One of his opponents mentioned that Galindez was one of the most scared fighters he ever fought. He clarified that by saying that he wasn't afraid as such, but he fought with the ferocity of a caged animal.
His fight with Richie Kates was an all-time classic.

Something tells me he wins in a brutal war with Qawi.
