Was very close to putting Oliver in. Very good trainer also. Lists are about opinions.. I think Lee Beard, Gary Lockett, Chris Saingar, Bob Shannon and Ricky Hatton all come into that category.. A lot of trainers get different things out of different fighters.. We are blessed with so many good trainers.

What other top class boxers has he trained bar froch?

Tactics ? Froch fights the same fight every time for **** sake...there's no game plan with froch and no technique he just takes punches to land his own because he knows he can take the shots.

Bottom line is technically froch is very poor which reflects on the trainer.

Naz Had awesome reflexes which allowed him to use that style. His trainer taught him to avoid getting hit.

Lol at billy Nelson piping up...

Froch boxes to his strengths which is his strength, Hes not a jab and move style of fighter.
Tyson had little technical skill but explosive punch power did his coach get a hard time? NO :nono
Listen mate any trainer in the country would be in there element had they done what Robert has with Carl not only that but doing fantastically well in london at the olympics.
Have a wee think before you hit the keyboard pal:lol::lol:

Tyson had little technical skill? For **** sake mate have you not seen the guy fight? Head movement great footwork great at cutting off the ring a peek a boo guard with awesome punching technique and killer instinct. Awesome combination punching and speed to go with it the guy is one of the best heavyweights ever in his prime.

Billy Nelson you are a ****ing imbecile mate. Froch takes unnecessary punishment to the head and it's poor teaching. Hit and not get hit is the game

great footwork mate go a watch some of his fights, tyson was blessed with power and the fact the heavyweight scene wasnt great in his era, could you honestly see him doing what he done to a prime holmes, ali, foreman?
Tysons defence would crumble if someone stayed with him douglas, holyfield, lewis even danny williams.
Im not denying he was great to watch but purely based on his punch power

Amir Khan takes to much punishment to the head? so on that basis, Freddie Roach, Virgil Hunter are terrible coaches.

Billy Nelson, is one of the best trainers on these shores and you're calling him the "****ing imbecile" ? :patsch

A coach can only install so much the rest depends on what the fighter is actually capable of
