I had big money on Floyd in that fight... I was very nervous waiting for that decision. That was a far closer fight than people like to admit, I think a younger Oscar would easily beat Floyd.

Oscar beat Void when he was over the hill, I had it 7-5 like one of the judges. Oscar kept banging Void's head back like a speed bag, Void lost that fight. A younger Oscar would have knocked Void out. Void, Sr. said that...............

Not sure...but what I would say is that it would truly be a 50-50 fight. Even in the big fights oscar lost, most were close or even controvetsial.

Of course oscar already beat gayweather when he was old and past his prime I know for a fact oscar in his prime knocks out gayweather so does mosley and cotto. gayweather also lost to a journeyman in castillo and lets not forget gayweather was getting beat down by Judah.bottom line gayweather aint **** but a loud mouth with brittle glass hands ball less spine less coward

the question is would floyd have beaten him if they were both prime for prime? oscar may have been past his best but floyds first fight at 154 when he was younger... as we have seen him today he still cannot reach 154 on fight night. lets not also forget he gave up everything in negotiations because thats what you do when you want to fight the champion cash cow

if delahoya was younger on fight night vs floyd that night yeh i could see him doing better and possibly winning

Do you realize how stupid you both sound, considering Oscar threw more jabs in the last half of the fight?:patsch:patsch

I think the 2002 version that got robbed in the rematch with Mosley beats Floyd for sure. Other versions it's 50-50 or Floyd by very close decision. I don't think oscar lost all his big fights he did get robbed in the Trinidad fight and Mosley rematch.

My thoughts exactly. I knew Oscar was a better fighter than Floyd, but, I also realized that at that point of his career Oscar would not take the necessary steps to come into the fight in perfect condition. Oscar was clearly winning all the rounds in which he had the energy to fight. Once he ran out of gas, he gave away too many rounds. I had Floyd winning by a hair. But, the result came from Oscar's lack of fighting, not, from Floyd showing superiority in the ring. Had that been a prime Oscar, he beats Floyd with ease.

Everybody always say that a prime version of a person he beat would have win the fight.. What you fail to realize is that Mayweather would also be in his prime.. Oscar was 34 Floyd was 30.. It would be so many arguments and question marks if you break down everyone's career and put them prime for prime.. Floyd is the only person I've seen that people want him to fight prime fighters every fight until he retires.. No breaks, no tune ups, no easy fights at all.. Just line up all the best fighters, make sure they're at their absolute peak or it doesn't count, and Madge him fight them 2x a year until he can't fight anymore...
