Why do so many consider Mayweather-Pacquiao a "cashing out" fight for Pacquiao? Could it be the fight has been delayed out of fear that Manny will lose his economic value if defeated by Mayweather? Can we agree that Manny has been billed and hyped as the Mayweather killer; he has been promoted as such and his allure is built to answer the question "Can this be the guy to finally beat Mayweather?" If that fight happens and Manny fails to dethrone the P4P King what happens to his PPV numbers, what happens to his aura, what happens to interest in yet another Pac vs Marquez/Bradley fight after that? Was it ultimately a smart move for Arum to avoid a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight for as long as he could, did they in fact make more money, juice more fans, and sell more PPV that way?
Bob Arum is selling based on the irrational belief that Mayweather is scared of Pacquiao. All their ******* dreams will be crushed if the Bobfather cashes out when he is done using up Manny and puts him in with Mayweather. It will be sad to watch Manny go out like that, but beautiful to watch these morons cry and scramble for excuses. What's sad, is his so called fans don't give a **** that Bob Arum is doing this to Pacquiao. For Manny's sake, I really don't want to see the fight. I think he'll take the worst ass kicking of his career. The only reason I want to see it happen, is because of the idiot *******s. It's not a particularly compelling fight in regard to Manny having a shot. He'll get worked. I just want to see *******s have egg on their face.
It was a smart business move by Floyd to duck threats like Marg, PWill, Manny, etc by going in and out of retirement and putting unnecessary roadblocks. Floyd's attraction is his 0. If he loses that, his PPV status plummets. He did what he had to do to protect that 0 any way he can.
this is not true he will always sell! the little ******* is an exciting fighter that takes chances even if he does get KOed.
Mayweather losing I think will do worse to his ppv numbers because most people want to see him lose and if he has already lost then you get the picture but still think he will be the biggest seller in ppv Manny has lost before and still was hitting big ppv numbers so it wont be as bad as if Floyd loses even if Floyd does lose I think he will still be able to sell himself in a different way.
If Floyd were to lose a fight and have an immediate rematch it will sell a ton of PPV, there would be huge interest to see how Floyd responds from his first loss
The question is if Manny loses to Floyd, do you honestly think Pac remains a PPV attraction without the Floyd Killer tag on him?
It depends on the opponent, how he loses, etc but higher chance that his stock will not be the same. Floyd's main attraction is his 0. That's his marketability to the general public to be honest and the main reason why he has a reputation for ducking credible fighters in their prime.
Well if Pac lost back in 2009 and think he would still be a attraction as of today I think the answer is no because its getting to the end of his career. The key differences here is that Mayweather sells himself on that 0 Pac sells him self on what he does in the ring.
The majority think Floyd's a duck and yes even black people think this... Manny will always do good numbers
