Nas would have never gotten in the ring with Marquez. The only reason why he and his camp accepted Barrera was because they thought Barrera was short after the war that he had with morales. Well they were wrong and paid for it. Juan Manuel Marquez would have decapitated Hamad ala Manny Pacquiao. They way Hammed dropped his hand low and threw wide shorts Marquez would have had no problem countering the **** out of him. Erik Morales and Chris John would have done the same. Stop overating Nas, he wasn't that good.
Naz had made plenty of money which he took care of, but after he hired his new trainer, he changed, never was the same after that. His new trainer tried to make a ballet dancer out of him, when it was his power, throwing from all angles, etc., which made Naz a fantastic fighter to watch........
If you look at his earlier fights he was already on the downgrade by the time he got to Barrera. His footwork and speed was gone. It's a shame we never saw him in his prime against the top guys because I've never seen a fighter like him when he was at his peak.
Hamed was the biggest draw around that weight class. He could have pretty much gotten any fight he wanted. It wasn't like Morales or the other top 122-126 lb fighters were locked in exclusive deals with Showtime
He made a lot of money and achieved a good deal. He lost his desire to fight, his heart wasn't in it. Hamed also said it was hand injuries, but that was years later and hand issues are probably very common among fighters anyway, given the nature of the sport
Naz was on the decline once he left ingle no other trainer fit him dude had a lot of talent but he blew it 96-97 hamed beats marco
Find it strange that his only loss against Barrera leads certain people to believe he wasn't good and he only lost on points there were no knockdowns no shut out he just lost on points and not the mythical boxing lesson that is getting quoted nowadays, outside the ring I think the lad is a complete turd but he certainly could fight and was entertaining, I thought he retired too early but if your in a position to wake up one morning and say I can't be bothered anymore then fair play to him
:rofl MAB outboxed him bad imagine what JMM would do to him Hamed fans should known difference between fighting good fighter and fighting ATGs!
No. That was a clinic by Barrera - anyone with eyes could see that. MAB embarrassed his opponent. Took his heart and made Hamed quit boxing, effectively. No need to look at the score cards on this one. Dude got booed in his last fight, and it was an extremely boring fight - Johnny Nelson boring. And using your logic, Hamed should have not only asked for an immediate rematch with MAB, but would have trounced a no-name scrub in his first fight after the loss. He didn't. MAB destroyed Hamed as a boxer. That much is obvious.
