A liver shot is hands down the most excruciating pain I've ever felt from boxing. I'd much rather take a shot to the head, rather than the liver. When someone truly connects clean with a liver shot, it literally saps all your energy right out of you, all you can feel is immense pain, it takes everything out of you. It feels like your adrenaline suddenly fades all at once, and you're just left completely empty, with excruciating pain.
It wasn't a dive, Ali Raymi knows a thing or two about the might of body punches "Body punching is an art that very few boxers fully understand, every punch I throw is stronger than the punch that KOed De La Hoya"
Some say he crapped his trunks so it might have been a legit reason to stay down. I don't know if that is true or not.
he was young. when he ko oscar he was 39  oscar should have got an oscar for that performance:yep
I know body shots can stop any man if hit right, but it was his rolling on the ground that made it look staged. So I'm not really sure.
Watch Jones vs Virgil Hill both shots land around the same area the liver .... doesn't have to be hard but if you hit it you will go down
Roy's shot was on the other side of the body if I am not mistaken.. That wasn't a liver shot, it flat out broke Virgil's ribs.
