Well some might argue his best wins were Hatton and Berto depending on how you saw those respective fights, both close as hell. and according to Malignaggi, Collazo badly injured himself in the Freddy Hernandez fight and says he shouldn't be judged too harshly on that performance

Collazo is seriously dangerous especially for somebody who has been looking as vulnerable as Khan has lately

 

He has gone backwards since he went to Hunter, Hunter has shown he can only train a fighter to fight one way and that style doesn't suit Khan at all, Made a big mistake leaving Roach IMO who suited him far more, think he was looking for someone to blame for his Garcia loss and made the stupid move of going to a trainer who has made him go backward, He was lucky to beat Diaz didn't even get a warning for all the holding he was doing and was dropped and then badly hurt, i think Collazo will beat Khan

 

It is a massive fight in his career, if this fight was 2-3 years ago I think he wins convincingly. On current form, not sure, maybe a year out and a big training camp with Hunter is what he needs. We shall see...

 

What have you made of Hunter's corner work in his last few fights? It genuinely has seemed out right bizarre at times.

 

That alone along with all else involved on the May 3rd Mayweather vs Maidana fight card, with Khan's fight against Collazo and Broner's fight at 140 against Molina, will gaurantee upwards of 1-million plus PPV buys. All three fights have begun to become intriguing now.

 

I honestly think everything for him is geared in his mind towards a Mayweather fight,and he is deluding himself. I think in the event of a stoppage loss here,he will finally realise its gone and definitely retire,maybe even a points loss. 50 50 fight for me,but I couldn't see a Khan stoppage win. A points win won't get him a shot at Floyd. Plus I agree with yourself and others. I hope were all wrong,but I think he is shot. Plus,the only fighters I can remember who could get away with over a year out of the ring were the calibre of Mayweather and Leonard. And good as he is,Amir was never that.

Don't agree with the first part of your post as I don't think Collazzo is easy,even though he isn't young. But you're dead right that his sole objective is Mayweather. I think he's fooling himself about that and will not get it. He's a long way down a big queue. If he loses this one I think it will be his last fight. He possibly knows himself he's past his best. Thats why he's chasing a fight he knows he can't win.

 

I don't envision Khan lasting all that long at 147.

At 140, fighters where walking through his "powerful" shots and fighters not known as especially physically powerful fighters had him on the back foot. Plus once fighters get use to his speed, what should be a routine win ends up being a life and death struggle.

Even if he beats Collazo, will or should he be ranked in the top 10 of the division?

Khan has got worse since leaving Roach and most importantly Ariza, he takes a shot even worse these days and his offence is worse. Hunter is a trainer who lives of the name of Andre Ward, most of his other fighters have recent losses or like Khan have looked like ****.

Collazo has a great chance in this fight, War Collazo

 

Hunter is in the same position Enzo Calzaghe and to some extent Adam Booth is/was in he has made his name with an elite fighter who would be elite with or without him.
