Because you are comparing his records to guys that did it when they were the fully number one undisputed Ring champion.

If you want to count Wlads belt when he was simply as contender then fine- but give Joe Louis that priviledge as well

IN HW there is direct line to the real championship

Thats what Joe Louis defenses were of. Wlad got the same title when he beat Chagaev.

This doesn't make any sense. There weren't 4 titles back then.

When Wlad beat Chris Byrd in 2006, Byrd was considered the best of the HWs. Wlad beat him and unified 2 other major belts.

It should count when he beat Byrd and rightfully does by Boxing pundits.

The real question is should the WBO title defenses count?

Wlad was the RING TOP CONTENDER when he beat byrd. Get it right !!

The CHAMPIONSHIP was vacant until the Chagaev fight.
Due to the fact that he re established lineage.

Most of the guys from his "bum of the month club" would be among Wladimir's best career victories. Just sayin...

That's the Ring Championship, not what all other boxing publications promote.

Negative. Byrd was the rings no 1 contender. Their title was vacant.
The top contender position can be re arranged without even fighting said contender.

It doesnt matter that theiur wasnt 4 or 5 titles back then, doesnt matter at all.

Because THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD goes back fuurther in time and has a line.

Chris Byrd John Ruiz Roy Jones etc are not in that line.

    We all know this.

Wlad has reestablished the line and he has done very well. However he does nto have 16 defenses of the undisputed championship .

Your argument is moot anyways. The Ring states that Wlad has 16 Title defenses.

Credit Ring Magazine, a U.S. Publication with no history of love for non-American fighters for rightfully recognizing Wlad with his 16 defences. They also have him, I believe at top 3 p4p which is truly amazing for a heavyweight, especially a foreign based one to achieve this. Awesome performance tonight by Wlad. His greatness is being recognized by the people who count even if begrudgingly. After each Wlad successful defense we are witnessing history. He may surpass the immortal Joe Louis.

Obviously they are not talking about their own title.

Look I am giving Wlad due credit here in one way. 9 defenses of the real undisputed title is a massive thing to achieve, likewise however you cannot discredit guys of the past , the very fact that they never wore bogus belts when they entered the top ten is ineed a good thing compared to the rubbish today.

Theres a farce of a fight happening later tonight for "the heavyweight championship" with 2 other guys- and thats a joke, it aint real and the winner is not the world champion- Wlad is.

    Imagine this for a moment.
Arreola could win later, fight 50 fights before he faces Wlad- the somehow beats Wlad.

Theres the worlds champ with 51 defenses :rofl

One thing I dont like about heavyweight boxing is that it has been garbage this decade, however one thing I do like is the fact that no matter what belts are out there we can still see who is champ and who is contender - beyond the alphabet crap

Again the HW division has a line- that line is not determined by any of the tin foil belts out there today. They usually go hand in hand but not always.

Wlad is undipsuted today that much is clear.

Tyson for example was not the real champ till he beat Spinks- which he duly did- he already had the 3 belts at that point.
