Oscar was doing pretty well in that fight, and he might've been leading on points at the time of the stoppage.

He got nailed with a liver shot, plain and simple. Hopkins didn't really thrust his arm back and get full momentum on the shot, but he was still able to land it pretty close to perfect.

A liver shot that's right on the button will put any man down. It's a debilitating shot that's very hard to target accurately, but if you can, it can easily keep an opponent down for 20+ seconds.

He might have quit, but not a dive like a fix.

i thought he took a dive when i watched it live. Hopkins was turning it up for the past couple of rounds and DLH had no answer. He found his way out of the fight

Fighters get press for saying stupid controversial ****. If you think Morales believes it you are stupid.

I thought it was it looked a bit soft when I was watched it live but it was hard to tell.

What made me raise my eyebrows more than the actual punch was after the fight when Hopkins asked De La Hoya what put him down, and you see De La Hoya explaining that it was a body punch 'Yeah you got me right here'.

Morales might be right .. but Only Oscar really knows.

Total fix, not unlike several other shady dealings Oscar had in the ring (Campas?). And LOL at those saying fixed fights don't occur at that level anymore. Thanks for the joke. Finally, they announced their partnership two weeks after that farce. You think they began negotiating after the fight? Hell no, these things can take months sometimes. Watch closely, fellas, and you'll see bad acting that night from both guys. That fight was Bernard's signing bonus.

No backfire at Erik who was a great but he's talking the small talk here. Why would ODLH having worked the MW Champion of the World in his own way and unexpectedly right in the center of the ring, suddenly with 3 rounds to go would tarnish his career by suffering a TKO to Bernard? That was a left jab that slided and turned into a left hook right there in the liver spot and along the ropes.
