Just watched the Diaz and Malignaggi fight for the first time and I really think that when Porter fights someone with power like Mathyse or Garcia hes gonna get beat and with a little more experience I think Thurman will beat him as well. He looks kind of like Broner to me in the sense that if he can take your power he will just walk you down but will he end up the same?

He will get stopped late against Matthysse but would do good early maybe knocking Lucas down a couple of times

Thurman would stop him mid rounds hes just too fast and too accurate

Porter destroys Garcia though, mid round stoppage, too big and too strong for Garcia

And watching Thurman last night, Thurman looks like anyone who pressures him correctly, Thurman will lose to them. He telegraphs his shots. And once you bang back with him he back's up and gets gun shy.

    Thurman'll lose soon.

Garcia will definitely lose soon too. Thurman and Porter both destroy Garcia. I like Garcia too.

    He destroys Matthysse.

Matthysse's weak jaw can't hold against Thurman/Porter's power....

Garcia could potentially win via decision.

Garcia doesnt really have tons of power. It kind of sort of looked like he did vs Matthyse just because Matty eye was swelled shut and he couldnt see the punches coming. Not saying Garcia is featherfisted by any means, but I dont think he hits like Thurman.

I actually have some questions about Thurmans chin. I would not go so far to call it shakey, but seems like a lot of guys can stun him a bit easier than I would like. Shouldnt be an issue with most people, but right now I have to think that Porter power seems more likely to bother Thurman than the reverse.

By the same token, I think Matty might give Thurman some issues but Thurman is naturally bigger and seem to hit at least as hard. So I favor Thurman, and I would favor Porter - but not by huge margins. Matthyse punch resistance might be hurting a bit due to weight drain, so thats a wild card.

No one at WW besides Randall hits like Thurman, that dude's power is down right scary.

We still don't know how Danny will fight yet at 47, let's wait and see.

    He might actually beat Porter/Thurman.

He has the chin to stand up to their power and he is probably just as if not a better boxer than the two. The dude's chin is pure granite, no two ways about it.

I can't see Porter beating any of them.

He's an decent boxer with decent power, not on the same level as any of them.

The welters will be an exciting division to watch, with Danny, Lucas, Porter, Thurman, Maidana, Guerrero, Brook, Karass, Alexander Diego and Khan. Plus the Top Rank welters. That's a good mix.

I don't really rate Porter but have respect for his punching power. I find him to be very crude and reckless. He's somewhat more of effective version of Karim Mayfield or K9 Bundrage to me. I'd give him the proverbial puncher's chance against all three, but I'd pick all three to beat him.

I'd really like to see him fight Danny Garcia, talk about a clash in styles.

Garcia keeps proving people wrong against guys that are heavily favored over him and I've learned not to discredit him in future bouts, but Porter's strength, combination punching and pressuring style would give Danny fits.

As far as Thurman, he might be a little too big and strong for Porter.

i think porter might be to big for lucas and danny. but danny moving up so i have to see how he looks at 147. i would like to see garcia fight brook at 147. if lucas was to move to 147 he should fight someone like karss or lopez. hell he can fight lopez at 140, aint lopez at 140 ?
