its simple...guys get in the ring thinking "i can do this and that...hes human"..."i did it sparring....this is what im gonna do"....and then it becomes a complete mind**** when you cant do any of it..... watched the all access....and they put mikey garcia in with maidana to spar "were gonna have mikey in there to replicate speed"....well thats good....but is mikey gonna be able to control distance like floyd? no......thats great that you have replicated "speed"....but it helps none.... its actually fun to watch world class fighters completely perplexed as to why they can push a guy to the ropes like they know they can do...and fire off a bunch of punches...yet do nothing......in the middle of the ring? forget it.....then they get gunshy that gif of canelo punching the ropes and floyd toying with him is the true definition....
they go into happy mode knowing the payday they will collect. the look you see in the fight, thats boredom.
I'm a boxer and I've been in those situations before without money involved. It is very easy to cruise to the finish when you're in with someone vastly superior to you who isn't making you fight. If there was already a check in the bank, it'd be all about looking busy and maybe trying for that 1 big shot if he gets complacent. Compare it to a guy who is vastly superior to you and is actively trying to beat you down. In that situation you fight back hard and go out on your shield. Floyd's style encourages inactivity from his opponents.
