https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMJaGBWuSgs Dude weighed in at 154 when he fought Berto and is probably better accomodated right now. Looks as big if not bigger than Berto too. Khan looks like a lean 147. I had Garcia and said it all along on the Matthysse fight that people are not taking nto account each fighters size and that Matthysse was a blown up lightweight. I think this might be the case in this fight too. What is Khan's highest weigh in after hydrating?
I expect Collazo and Periban to massively spoil the event tomorrow. Or actually make a lot of boxfans happy with stopping the possible Floyd vs Khan fight and giving that cheat J'Leon his first (beyond judges repair) loss.
I agree that the size of the fighter on fight night plays a major role. I thought it did especially in that Khan-Judah a few years back. Khan looked much bigger than Judah. It'll be an interesting fight, I think. Virgil Hunter and Khan both have a lot at stake. Hunter has really been talking up Khan's "improvement" as of late. Of course, it could be just a trainer hyping up his fighter before the fight. But I think there is a possibility of seeing improvement. 8-9 months working solely on your craft is a decent amount of time. We will we see on Saturday night.
depends if he goes to war with collazo then he will get touched other than that Khan will be on the outside all night if he doesnt get tired, he's not stupid.
Throwing down a little dough on Collazo. With Amir Khan's glass jaw, glass ring IQ and lack of adjustment to left hooks, this is a recipe for disaster
Of course he can pull it off. Khan often is mislabled as having a "glass chin," when it simply IS NOT the case. If it were, he'd have been KO'd a lot sooner than he was against Garcia, and the overhand right he ate from Maidana (I think in round 10) would have ended him too. The problem with Khan is that he is defensively flawed i.e. he eats too many punches. Whats worse is his in-out style plays against him when he comes up against someone who can counter or has good timing; meaning Garcia was basically Khan's kryptonite!!! From what I've seen of Collazo, he too possesses good timing/accuracy. Unfortunately for Khan, it seem that's all you need to have a chance of beating him! Although I don't believe all this fighter/trainer hype that Khan is now so much better (it's always a load of bollox, the only difference is he might come in with a gameplan, Khan will always fundamentally be the same style of fighter), I do think Khan will grab a handy UD win....
