Maybe one for the Scots but does anyone know what's happening with Jon Slowey?

Hasn't been out since his war against Badger, always thought he looked a fantastic prospect.

Agree he can't punch don't think he has had a stoppage, seems to be a few young scottish fighters that haven't boxed this year including sloweys stablemate Zander White.

Good to hear that. Hope he behaves now and concentrates on fighting again. Boxing is a short career, so Johnny should make the most of it. He lacks power yes but he is still improving and is a tricky customer for most boys st his weight, good luck to him.

I've known Jon since I coached him at youth International level and he really has all the ability needed to carve out a good career, his lack of power might hurt him when he tries to move on from Domestic level but I would really like to see him fight Josh Warrington for the Commonwealth Title!! I think Jon might just have the skills and footwork to frustrate Josh and pick up a points win!!

Warrington walks through Sloweys punches and would easily stop him.
he got a lucky decision on the Gonzalez show and lost to Hughes at the Gorbals, shocking decision by Pringle who has to be the worst ref in the UK

Wasn't he put down two/three times in the Scottish?
Very lucky winner in final by all accounts

I was at the semi's and Charlie struggled with Lewis Paulin, he was dropped heavy in the first round and there was some sort of mess up with the bell ringing early and giving Charlie extra time to recover!! But he recovered well and got back into the fight imo he was a wee bit lucky to get the decision, after the bout it was Lewis Paulin who seemed to be happy and thinking he won where as I thought Charlie Flynn looked relieved when the result was called.

I don't understand why he would be like a Scottish Ricky Hatton? He doesn't box anything like Ricky Hatton!!

He's training with Peter Harrison and he has more of the Scott Harrison style, using the jab well, using good footwork to get his opponents into areas he wants them.

Tbh he is a very good talent but I don't like it when prospects are tagged as the new Hatton, Khan, Mayweather etc. It can add unwanted pressure to some boxers through no fault of there own.
