Who do you think won? Mayweather or Maidana **FIGHT POLL**

I thought it had to have scored some back shots or shoulder shots or elbow shots, or low blows, or rabbit punches for Maidana, honestly. There were several rounds where I legit believe Maidana landed only 6 or so punches and the stats on the broadcast show like 16 or something, I'm like.... uhhhhhh, no way.

I'm shocked everybody isn't talking about how shitty the broadcast team and their scoring was. Several rounds towards the middle and end were looking to be clear Mayweather rounds and the broadcasters kept saying how close of a round it was.

Clear case of everybody over valuing 20 second spans of a round.

They are 3 minutes, folks. Take the whole thing into consideration.

In my opinion Mayweather landed more than 9 punches, which is what ShoStats claims, than Maidana did. I do however agree that Maidana threw at least twice as many shots as ShoStats claimed, too.

i would like to know what the 7 rounds were? i just rewatched the fight and no way did he win 7 rounds he won 4 maybe 5 at a push

Mayweather by 3 rounds but I think making maidana change gloves was a really girlie move

 

I think mayweather without doubt won the contest but it was closer than the two mayweather judges had it

 

I didn't score the fight carefully the one time I watched it, but going by the eye test and intuition (not very reliable ways of scoring I know) I had it either a draw or Mayweather just slightly. 115-113 seems to me to be a very credible score but I'll have to rematch it without the sound and give it a careful look.

 

i did notice the first 2 minutes of a round floyd is in the centre of the ring outboxing maidana finding his rythem then in the last minute goes to the ropes maidana comes in with wild flurries 1 or 2 graze floyd and floyd gets in his own work and the bell rings people behind me say "maidana getting to him, he took that round"

its a common strategy to fight hard for the last minute to leave a lasting impression in the judges minds but when the aggression you pour on is not effective ? well im sorry but you aient getting scored for it..

 

I'm re-watching it now and maidana has swept rounds 1-5 for me, so for Floyd to have won, needs to be a clean sweep from 6-12 for pbf

Obviously there could have been close rounds etc but I have them to maidana so far

 

One of the few times where I actually knew I could count on the UK waking up and watching the fight and voting to help accurately reflect what went on...

Really? Based on what? Landing less punches? Throwing more punches? Getting hit by more efficient punches?

I think that was a close but tbh it could have gone either way

Tbh scores of 114-114 or 115-113 to either fighter isn't something strange


It was a close fight

Maidana just kept smothering floyd as much as possible and would aim to hit anything he could land on

Was madness

Floyd pot shot too much, and couldn't show as much of his mastery a he did before

Watching the May-Alvarez fight and floyd was able to move about, but with maidana he couldn't move as much

 

Effective aggression and he was landing a lot on the ropes esp to the body

 

Did not see it yet. Sounds like Mayweather was in a fight.
