Styles do make fights. It's why so many people want him to fight Manny. A guy who is as talented and athletic with the kind of style that would challenge Floyd. Miadana wasn't supposed to be that kind of test but because he increased his work rate for Mayweather, Marcos was able to find a lot of success.
I'm not even bother reading that ********ual rant, you have no credibility none whatsoever after you claimed to have seen six full fights of Henry Armstrong not only are you a ****** you are also a liar and you dont know **** about the sport. Brilliant analysis and agree with all of it apart from the last bit about Floyd taking a loss. Never say never though.
Honestly I never underestimated Maidana, I could clearly see he had the characteristics in his style to be a huge problem. Pure volume is not what troubles Floyd, you'll often hear the first Castillo fight referenced to proclaim it does, but it's erroneous. First off he says his rotator cuff was badly damaged, a doctor corroborated this, I tend to think it was probably true. However lets just disregard that idea for a moment; in the second fight with Castillo he won convincingly, and hardly seemed to be troubled by the style at all. Since then fighters like Ndou and Hatton tried the same "overwhelm by volume" approach, and it simply didn't work, both of them wound up getting knocked out. The preponderance of evidence suggests that the pure volume style hasn't been an issue for him for quite some time now. Now with that said, lets talk about the valid reasons why Maidana was so troubling for Floyd's particular style. First off, he isn't a very skilled boxer, he knows that too, this was a particular instance that favored that. Since he is cognizant of this fact, he was never foolish enough to believe he could stand and outbox Mayweather, he knew he needed to attack and turn it ugly. Guerrero and Canelo needed to do the same thing, but both of them let their egos dictate, and tried to outbox Mayweather; Maidana fell into no such traps. It's not so much pure volume punching, as it is relentless pressure that made him effective. Floyd is an intellectual fighter, a thinking man, he likes to be methodical and calculated. Maidana staying on him all night inhibited his ability to do that, which threw Mayweather off his game. Both Canelo and Alvarez got picked apart by lead rights, Maidana wasn't going to allow himself to sit back and be picked apart. Now Mayweather is always a marvelous counter puncher, which leads to the next point. After being countered and smacked a few hard times, guys like Canelo and Guerrero got discouraged, Maidana never did. His determination is something quite rare, when I saw him eat multitudes of hard counters from Broner that seemed to only strengthen his resilience, I knew that he'd be a challenge for Mayweather in that regard too. Lastly, we know Maidana has a tremendous chin, and a huge heart. Truthfully any boxer who steps in the ring must possess courage beyond that of a normal person, but Maidana is an exception in a sport filled with courageous fighters. No matter what he believes in himself, and refuses to have his will crushed, he is very tough and persistent mentally. He is alot like Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. in that his game revolves around his belief that he can out will his opponent, that he will keep chopping at the tree in a metaphorical sense, until he breaks his opponent down. This is a trait of his that was way underrated, especially considering how Mayweather has made a career out of his ability to frustrate and discourage opponents, and ultimately take them out of their game. So with Maidana you have a concoction of: Very good power, exceptional chin, huge heart, extremely awkward angles, and a very unorthodox, albeit technically incorrect style. He however has the following weaknesses: Slow feet and general poor footwork, handspeed is below average, stamina has been an issue, porous defense, not very skilled as a boxer. When comparing his pros and cons, it's clear he had the right mix of traits to be a huge problem. His style magnifies his strengths, while minimizing his weaknesses, when he gets in there with a pure boxer. Had he decided to sit back and box, his much slower footwork would leave him vulnerable, his defense would get him potshotted all night, Floyd's superior handspeed would dominate him, he'd be thoroughly dominated in every regard. However that's not how he fights, which is exactly why styles make fights. The exact same traits that made him such a problem for Mayweather could make him extremely vulnerable to a different fighter, and that's the very essence of boxing.
pacs last fight agains bradley his punch stats were 198/563 the first bradley fight his stats were : 253/751 its very clear that pac has clearly transitioned into more of a boxer puncher. i agree you make a very very good point for pac if the fight took place in 2010 like originally planned but its hard to see pac doing that well now, floyd better defensively then bradley and has always had a niche for lowering punch output (suppose that changed against maidana though)
funny how i waited for your reply for a while whilst also seeing you reply in other threads and seeing that you were online you still completely ducked the thread. your not a fight collector your just collecting sour grapes.
Void heard the crowd at ringside booing like hell, Void knows he lost the fight........................Ali has asked Void to fight Pac, but Void will not even answer him........................Void is a coward............
