Maidana doesn't have a mindless pressure, there's an intelligence/timing to his shots. Timing always seems to be the hardest thing for people to gauge, and for good reason. The boxers who utilize timing are picking up on the subtlest clues on when to throw a punch on an opponent. It's very hard to recognize if a fighter has great timing, indicator's are pretty much only if they seem slow, stationary, with limited output, yet land at high connect %.

All those things that would seem to be negatives are actually deliberate. Slow forward movement = constant measuring of position, stationary head = constant studying of opponent to get a feel of when to throw, limited output= picking their shots. The only time they increase output is after they have made it in close, as their chances of landing are increased just by distance closure.

This is a joke right? You're saying the best boxer in the world isn't a good boxer?

The "best" is merely a perception. IMO no, he isn't a good boxer in the traditional sense because people are starting to walk straight through his punches. You can only move around the ring so long until someone catches up to you, that's what happened tonight in the Maidana fight, and one of the reasons he looked so poor.

Its not hard to understand boy. All I'm saying is power not a skill too?
Floyd is lacking in that department as he is slapping with 90% of his shots.

If Pac was as good as people here describe him, he would be undefeated with every fight being tko or ko.. These people who get in the ring and fight for our entertainment are human with only human abilities.. People say 'they gassed' but think they did that because they threw too many punches when reality is that Floyd's jab to the body slow them down..*

I've been following boxing now for the last 8 years but not a die hard boxing fan.. I'm trying to expand my knowledge and been watching more fights in different weights than ever over the last 3 or 4 years.. To learn more I decided to join a forum but I now realize it's not for me.. People hate certain guys so much that no credit is given no matter what.. People hate LeBron but still recognize him as the best in the sport with Kevin Durant closing in.. I guess I'll find a new form to join with more structure...

If he isn't a good boxer how could he have won so many fights? How could he be undefeated? How could he have won titles in various weight divisions? How come he's rated #1 p4p by most people and at least top 5 by 99% of people?

Really? This is the first fight that's been close in how long? Floyd's KO% is almost the same as Pacquiao's yet you make up some silly number like it is fact.

If you are honestly going to contend that Floyd's punching power at the moment is the same as Pacman's because they have similar KO% then I won't even bother to reply to your posts.

wtf? even the best will lose and have lost. Look at all the fighting sports. And if Floyd is a as good as people said, he would end fights with TKO/KO's right? LOL! And in the end, if Floyd is the better fighter, why hasn't he face pacman?

saying someone is better is different from actually proving it..

Facts are facts bud. I didn't see feather fisted Bradley respecting Pac like he did against Prov. Floyd's power is the same as Pac, especially right now.

Floyd's KO's came earlier and at lower weights
but you don't need KO's to defend Floyd anyway...
