Khan was 161lbs last night which means he was DEFFO weight drained at 140...

This, I didn't see any improvement as such by Khan. He kept his cool against a fighter who was trying to turn the match into a dog fight but I think everytime Collazo landed Khan felt the weight of his punches and Collazo isn't the damaging punched his Lo over Ortiz had led everyone to believe.

Khans speed is phenomenal and his Andre Ward defence may lengthen his career up at 147.

Still think khan will come a cropper again and again against the wrong opponent. Best thing khan can do is get the mayweather fight...probably a safer fight out there than some of them. Floyd hurts you but he doesn't go out to stop you...which will give khan a small chance with his speed...maybe take some rounds with it.

Wasn't overly impressed with khan last night, thought he boxed well and has picked up a few new tricks with virgil but still preferred khan with Roach. He was becoming a very good fighter at one point, during the Judah, malinaggi run, and was overwhelming Garcia early, but between a combination of trying to throw too many shots and Garcia being smart enough to time him, he blew it...hardly roach's fault as he told him enough times what not to do.

Still get the feeling virgil isn't that confident about khan, just seems a bit stand-off fish with him...not sure if that's a usual virgil trait...Just get a feeling virgil knows he will only take him so far...before he unravels.

Collazos win against Ortiz flattered him a bit. Think he was an ideal opponent for Khan last night, but should not be enough to get him a Floyd fight. For me khan has no power, put him over 3 times but was more to do with the fact collazo didn't respect his power at all that he continually walked in with his hands down...most at the elite level would have put him away without too much trouble...fighting like that. Just doesn't have the power to keep the elite off...luckily collazo isn't a big puncher. But plenty out there that are. Khan just needs to keep progressing...good win to get him back going again. Still think last nights opponent flattered khan.

Always going to be a flawed fighter...very very good speed and decent strength, just poor power and not much thinking ability, if you want to stick around elite level you definitely need the latter...at least he appears to be listening to virgil...so that's a start anyway.

Still a mistake for me leaving Roach, think he took khan as far as he could, virgil wont take him much further in my opinion...they just might pick better suited opponents

Just my thoughts on last nights fight

    Good win for Amir tho.

Also question for billy while your on...not sure if you can answer or not.

Whats your thoughts on peds, steroids use etc etc. Look at ricky's body when you were training him...that to me is the way a boxers body should be with the type of training they do...now seeing guys like mayweather with six packs bulging out at 37, maidana losing 12-0 to alexander hooking up with ariza and Garcia and then giving Floyd his hardest fight for years and khan to me looking a bit suspect at the weigh in and many others marquez/Hopkins/pacman/broner...is it down to the strength and conditioning we're seeing nowadays/genetics or is it down to more shady means??

To me it's hard to do the amount of cardio required and still look as jacked as some of them are without additional means or maybe I m just not clued up with the modern conditioning they're doing.

Nah he wasn't drained. He looked in great condition in most of his fights at 140. No need for excuses.

cool bill, was just wondering if you had any insights/opinions on the matter. To be fair some of the stuff ariza was doing on all access looked top level stuff.

Maybe they are building better/stronger bodies without the gear afterall.

Your needing to get someone like ariza in the uk for the fighters billy if you haven't already...was impressive stuff. Monitering everything scientficully, at that level reckon every little helps.

Been sceptical about sports science in the past, definitely has a part to play just didn't agree with the extent...but seeing the work-outs there doing and the increased strength etc...probably got a big part to play in the sport. Maybe could have taking ricky to the next level, or the next guy coming through.

161 lbs is big that's a pound over middleweight. Khan looked a big welterweight the other night and just wait and see his next fight he'll look even bigger.

I remember Freddie Roach saying Khan would go through the weights right up to Middleweight.
