Quite amusing this thread when read with one a week ago saying Quiggs 'title' meant nothing to boxing and making out it was a farce-fans may think so,Seems it isn't to LSC. Framptons team have repeatedly called hearn out on te Quigg fight, well an offer was made yet again by Eddie and look at how quiet it's gone. LSC however,is interested, seems Hearn does ok by his fighters, offering real deals and getting them them good fights. That's the case whoever Quigg fights out of Kiko,LSC and Frampton.
WBA regular, WBC who gives a **** - Frampton and team should exit this stupid situation gracefully and just face Rigo - the true champion of the division. If he loses fine at least he tried against a truly world class opponent and the experience gained will help him moving forward - up to Feather for instance. He'd also get so much respect from boxing fans all over the world for taking on the challenge when everyone else is even frightened to mention Rigo's name. Meanwhile let the rest of them argue and squabble and make dodgy backroom deals to fight for their meaningless belts
Got to disagree with this. Super bantam is a great division right now with 4 very different fighters of a good level who want to fight each other and a kingpin who is on another level. Why cancel yourself out of what could be a super 4 for a tiny payday? Fair enough, Frampton doesn't have the promotional muscle of Santa Cruz or Quigg, probably not even Martinez, but he could beat any of them. Also to suggest a loss to a real top fighter in Rigo means you should flee from a great division is just silly. I think fighters who move up because of of a loss are generally saw losers or excuse makers and a real fighter would stay to at least try rectify the loss.
Can't wait to see the posters who accused Quigg/Hearn of ducking blame all this on Eddie, despite Frampton etc going silent after his offer
Really surprised LSC is referring to Quigg as a World Champion & calling this a unification fight yet dare not mention Rigo-the actual WBA titleholder. As a Golden Boy & possible US PPV fighter this is really not the way to go. In the UK the jounalist seem more inclined to go along with what Sky is selling. Not the way in the US & it will rightly get pointed out. By all means he can fight Quigg, good fight that it is, but a unification??? Get real.
Look let's face it- neither Frampton or Quigg want to fight LSC ideally. Kiko unexpectedly won the IBF when Carl was mandatory then run off with and didn't want to know about defending it against Carl so he had to switch targets to the WBC route and now LSC is messing about...I'm pretty certain Hearn doesn't really want to send Scott over to the US to get battered so the best thing to do is just come together this summer and ice out LSC and Kiko...unless Mcguigan can get a deal done with Kiko, get the fight on BN fulfilling his contract then fight Quigg In November/ Dec on sky - Quigg can also get another fight on in the meantime
The best course of action now is for Carl to do a deal with Quigg that gets him to Quigg ahead of Quigg-LSC fighting each other - admittedly under adverse conditions, swallow his pride and take all the frustration he must be feeling out on Scott (and then LSC). That way he can still (potentially) beat two "undefeated world champions" thereby becoming a huge star.
Quigg would have to fight Frampton if he beats LSC right? if LSC beats Quigg Frampton fights him then, not saying this is good news for Carl but not the end of the world i mean if LSC fights Quigg Frampton will be in a big fight regardless of the winner
I agree :good ''Im at the wrong weight.'' Seems to be the excsuse for every loss these days that, or they blame the trainer lol
To be fair mate Quigg/Kiko is not a 50/50, Quigg would be huge favourite. Munroe beat Kiko twice and Quigg beat him not to long after, and has improved a lot since then. He would school Kiko and stop him.
